CD Projekt RED has confirmed that Cyberpunk 2077 will have a New Game+ mode when it launches on PC and consoles next year. This is thought to be the first time that the developer has publicly confirmed that it is working on the much-requested Cyberpunk 2077 feature.

Cyberpunk 2077 developer CD Projekt RED has spoken to Polish language PlayStation magazine, PSX EXTREME, where it confirmed that it is working on a New Game Plus Mode. Nothing else was revealed about the mode, such as just how much players may be able to carry over to the new game, just that the feature is in development.

The developer has spoken about the game's high replayability before. There will be three different lifepaths for players to choose, CD Projekt RED has confirmed, and these may affect how a player is able to approach conversations with NPCs and complete missions. While it's not yet known if players will be able to choose another lifepath for their character in New Game +, it could potentially mean that players get to access all of the perks from all of the lifepaths by replaying the game.

New Game Plus could also potentially allow players to maximize all perks and skills. CD Projekt RED has said that Cyberpunk 2077 character classes won't be locked and that players will be able to change things if they'd like to change their play style and how they take on missions. However, being able to carry over progress from all of the abilities would make things much easier. Players would be able to be an incredibly strong hacker with a tongue of gold, something which would let the character steamroll through missions and be great fun to play as.

It's unclear when CD Projekt RED may show the feature to the public or reveal more details about how Cyberpunk 2077 New Game + works. The PSX EXTREME article also teases the game's loot system, the gameplay features in the protagonist's apartment, and the gangs and NPC groups that players will meet. Fans of the sci-fi RPG will want to hear more about all of these too.

It has been confirmed that CD Projekt RED will be sharing more Cyberpunk 2077 gameplay later this month, after Gamescom. It's not yet known how long this gameplay video will be and what it will offer, as with so many parts to this game, anything could be on the cards.
