It is no secret that Cyberpunk 2077 has had a very rocky launch since releasing back in December. The latest title from developer CD Projekt Red has come under fire for a game riddled with bugs ranging from the humorous to the game breaking.

With the latest big Cyberpunk 2077 patch releasing just yesterday, fans were hopeful that the new version would fix many of the issues plaguing the Open-World RPG. With just a day passing since the update was released for players to download, it seems that the patch may have caused more issues than it fixed.

As players are still dealing with Cyberpunk 2077's penchant for crashing, even with patch 1.10, it appears a more concerning bug has been found. One of the notable game breaking bugs before patch 1.10 was in relation to the mission "Down  on the Street," which had a key character not call the player. With patch 1.10, players are now receiving the call in the worst way possible. In "Down on the Street," players are supposed to get a call from Takemura, one of the game's central characters. Before the latest patch, Takemura would just not call V, leading to a harsh stop to main story progression.

In Cyberpunk 2077's Patch 1.10, while the call will definitely come in, it presents an entirely new "save breaking" bug. When Takemura calls the player, instead of providing the dialogue to end out the mission, the portrait of the Arasaka agent just sits there. While this would be a funny moment if players could just reload a save, it appears this bug is far worse than the previous version. According to players, even after attempts of loading previous saves, Takemura will always call and proceed to stall the game. The new "fix" has made the previous bug seem much more tame in comparison.

Waiting for phone calls is a core part of Cyberpunk 2077, much to the chagrin of players not enthralled with the manner of story telling. With players previously frustrated due to a required call not coming in, there is a bitter irony that it now those previously ghosted now are stuck in a perpetual video call. Despite some players finding a way to prevent this new rendition of the "Down on the Street" bug, actually fixing the issue seems impossible at this point.

Despite the continued bad press CD Projekt's Red latest release garners, the negative attention hasn't affected the game's sales. Reports indicate that Cyberpunk 2077 was the biggest selling digital title of all time breaking numerous records as players continue to flood Night City. Hopefully those hopping into the game for the first time can avoid the trap of the Takemura call, although there is always the option for a refund for those unable to progress.

Cyberpunk 2077 is available now for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One with PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series console versions in development.
