Cyberpunk 2077 is a game that has gotten better with patches and time. Many hours can be passed playing the game, as there are a ton of side quests, gigs, and exploration on top of the main story. There is also a lot that players can purchase with their quest reward money, from apartments to vehicles. In fact, there are dozens of different vehicles that V can own, whether they're bought or earned as quest rewards.

However, driving in Cyberpunk 2077 can get quite clunky in a car. The roads of Night City have other cars to avoid, sharp turns, and plenty of NPCs that can get hit. Unless the "Autojock" trophy is desired, there is not much reason for purchasing the many vehicles offered when there are already many that can be obtained for free. Not only that, but the motorcycles are the best of the vehicles, and there are only a handful of motorcycles out of the different rides. Some are free and some cost Eurodollars, but they are all more fun to ride than Cyberpunk 2077's various cars.

Why Cyberpunk's Motorcycles Are So Much Better

In terms of control, the motorcycles are better than any of the cars. Players can easily turn without fear of hitting NPCs or walls due to the motorcycle's thin size compared to the bulkiness of the cars. Not only that, but players can use the maximum speed without fear of running into traffic. A car cannot squeeze past or easily zigzag around other cars, but a motorcycle can. The motorcycle can easily go through alleyways and use empty sidewalks. Cars generally crash way more easily in Cyberpunk 2077.

Not only that, but motorcycles are the only way to get a good look at the Cyberpunk protagonist without using a mirror. One of Cyberpunk 2077's flaws that never was changed is that there is no option for third-person play despite the game sporting a beautiful character creator. Due to this, players rarely get to see the V they made. However, that changes with a motorcycle. Players can drive in the third person, and that goes for both cars and motorcycles. With cars, though, players cannot really see their V while driving. With motorcycles, V can be seen.

Lastly, motorcycles are far more punk than cars. Cyberpunk's aesthetics are about rebellion and seeking freedom against a dystopian world ruled by corporations. Even the advertising team behind the game knew that motorcycles were the most punk, and that is why the game art and posters often show V with a motorcycle.

The Motorcycles V Can Have

Motorcycles are not hard to obtain in Cyberpunk 2077. In fact, players get a free one early on in the game, Jackie's Arch, after completing their big heist quest with Jackie and a related side quest. The most popular motorcycle is the Yaiba Kusanagi CT-3X which is sold by Cyberpunk fixer Wakako Okada for 58,000 Eurodollars. The bike is popular for its design, as it was inspired from the famous cyberpunk anime, Akira. Senior vehicle concept designer for Cyberpunk 2077, Pawel Breshke-Czyzewski even said on his Artstation account, "The Akira motorcycle is iconic, and we wanted to create something equally good, but a little different."

The Akira bike is not even the most pricey of Cyberpunk 2077's motorcycles. That title goes to the ARCH Nazare, which Wakako can sell to V for 71,000 Eurodolllars; it was even more expensive before patch 1.5. The motorcycle design and name was inspired by Cyberpunk 2077 having a relationship with the real-life ARCH Motorcycle Company. In fact, a couple motorcycles were made in Cyberpunk due to that company relationship. It also made the ARCH Nazare "Itsumade" motorcycle, which is rewarded upon completing the quest "The Highwayman." Another free motorcycle is the Brennan Apollo "Scorpion", which is rewarded for the "Life During Wartime" quest. There is also another version that is old by Sebastian Ibarra for 30,000 Eurdollars.

Which such cool and easily obtainable motorcycles around, it is a wonder why there are so many car choices in Cyberpunk 2077. None of the cars have the same amount of freedom that the motorcycles provide. Speed means nothing if a traffic jam is unavoidable. It is also a great way to see V in the third person while cars block them off from the players' view due to their roof.

Cyberpunk 2077 is available now for Google Stadia, PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
