In order to inject a little more immersion into Cyberpunk 2077, a recent mod adds some new animations to the game for those times when V wants to chow down on some food while out and about in Night City. Granted the Steam award for "Labor of Love" in 2022, CD Projekt Red's dystopian sci-fi RPG has certainly had its ups and downs. Hyped up as one of the most exciting releases of 2020, the game sadly fell short due to an onslaught of bugs that made it very difficult to play, particularly on previous-gen consoles.

Fortunately, it's in a much better state these days and fans have been flocking back to it after some major updates. Given that there are plenty of decisions the player can make in Cyberpunk 2077, not to mention a vast city to explore, the game has a lot of immersion going for it. However, some in the modding community feel this sense of engagement could always be a little better.

That's where Nexus Mods user Deceptious comes into the picture. A recent mod of theirs called "Immersive Food Vendors" aims to keep Cyberpunk 2077 as captivating as possible with some new animations. Basically, whenever V decides to have a bite to eat at one of the city's numerous vendors, the player will notice new animations that play out when they ingest some delicious nourishment. The modder says they had to limit it to foodstuffs that can fit in the protagonist's hands, so sandwiches, burgers, sushi, fruit, a small pudding, and hot dogs all have their own animation sequences.

Interestingly enough, this goes hand-in-hand with another modification Deceptious released recently. Thanks to the user, Cyberpunk 2077 players can watch V take a drink at a Night City bar with yet more custom animations. There are a lot of ways for fans to get immersed in CDPR's game, with the modding community only too happy to release its own content to assist with this.

Because Cyberpunk 2077 features some pretty disturbing content, there will be times when V just wants to forget all their troubles and go for a drink or something to eat. Night City is awash with all sorts of crime and corruption, not to mention the seediness, so mods like the ones Deceptious has released can offer a little more, helping to keep some of the illusion alive by allowing the player to chill out for a hot minute at a food outlet or bar.

Cyberpunk 2077 is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
