For those Cyberpunk 2077 players who like to pound brews around Night City, a new mod gives this boozy pastime a more immersive feel thanks to some added animations. Taking inspiration from the classic sci-fi film Blade Runner, CD Projekt Red's open-world game was one of the most anticipated releases of 2020. Sadly, the launch was heavily criticized due to a series of bugs so severe that many people with a copy for previous-gen consoles found the game almost unplayable.

Fortunately, a lot has changed since then and the developer has been working hard to iron out some of the most disastrous glitches. As a result, the game is in a much better state these days and many have been happy to return to it, which is a good thing really. There is so much to do in Cyberpunk 2077's Night City that it would have been quite the loss had the game disappeared into oblivion. Even just wandering around the city itself can provide enough entertainment for players, and one thing many like to do is swing by one of the game's bars.

If a relaxing drink is what people like to do when controlling V, a new mod for Cyberpunk 2077 makes this a little bit more immersive. As spotted by The Gamer, Nexus Mods user Deceptious recently released "Immersive Bartenders," a mod for the game that implements animations for when the player knocks back some booze in a bar. A couple of videos show it in action in places like Corpo Plaza and Sunset Motel, in which V selects one of a few alcoholic beverages on offer and takes a chug of the bottle or can. The modder says players will still get the effects of the drink and that the mod works for all of Night City's bars and bartenders.

As mentioned above, there are a lot of ways to while away the hours while playing CDPR's dystopian RPG. Some have accused Cyberpunk 2077 of being quite linear, though this is most likely related to significant branching options in the main story, according to the game's quest director. When it comes to side quests and life in Night City, most would agree there is a large element of non-linearity.

With a Cyberpunk 2077 sequel officially announced last year, the developer is evidently keen to keep telling stories in this world. The game may have got off on the wrong foot when it came out just over two years ago, but a lot has been learned since then, and no doubt fans will be eager to play a follow-up.

Cyberpunk 2077 is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
