For those Cyberpunk 2077 fans that think fighting Adam Smasher is not much of a challenge, a new mod aims to fix that by making the game's boss battles a much more difficult confrontation. While everyone is aware of the launch of CD Projekt Red's dystopian title, namely how it was rendered nearly unplayable on previous-gen consoles because of bugs, two years down the line, it's now a fantastic singe-player game. It may have had a rocky start, but the studio has managed to turn things around.

With last year's announcement of a sequel in development, not to mention Cyberpunk 2077's Phantom Liberty DLC due out soon, CDPR obviously has a lot of faith in its IP, which is good news for fans who have been enjoying their exploits across Night City. As expansive as the vanilla experience is, there are ways to enhance the gameplay even further. That's where the modding community comes to the rescue, and all sorts of custom content has been keeping the open-world RPG in good standing with the community.

A recent example of this is Nexus Mods user RalphModding, who recently released "Bosses Rebalanced," a mod for Cyberpunk 2077 that increases the difficulty of boss encounters. The goal of the mod is to give more of a challenge to those players who find boss fights too easy. The description says that Sasquatch, Sandayu Oda, and Adam Smasher have been given new healthbars and some additional buffs. For example, Oda has had his camouflage cloak added, which will make watching out for his attacks much harder. Essentially, RalphModding encourages those who install the mod to make sure they gear up before each encounter.

Cyberpunk 2077 has a number of bosses, each one with their own abilities. The aforementioned Smasher is probably the most recognizable one, largely because V is introduced to him early on in the game. While it's not until much later on in the story that players get to fight him, his appearance throughout is a constant reminder that this immense Arasaka cyborg will prove quite the challenge. However, for those who feel it may have been too easy, "Bosses Rebalanced" should hopefully address this.

Most who play games, especially on PC, know the value of custom content and how dedicated the modding community is. Whether it's adding immersive food eating animations to Cyberpunk 2077 or making Night City in general a lot more dangerous, fans are more than keen to improve on the vanilla release, no matter how big it already is.

Cyberpunk 2077 is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
