The wound still feels deep to many, but at least Cyberpunk 2077 is now in a much better state than it was when it first released. For all its flaws, and it still definitely has some, it's one of the best open world RPGs out there, sitting up there with the likes of Fallout and Elden Ring. However, one thing that does seem to be missing from this futuristic science fiction world is cars that fly. Fans might assume the developer would have added them in, but for now, it's been left up to a modder to take on that role.

YouTuber LastKnownMeal has been showing off a new Cyberpunk 2077 mod that adds the long-awaited flying cars to the game. Created by Jack Humbert, the add-on is called "Let There Be Flight," and it even lets players fly bikes as well. Perhaps the most intriguing thing about the mod is that it doesn't just add flying vehicles, but actually implements an animation whereby the wheels turn to become thrusters. The video shows the player doing so in a Porsche 911, even showing what happens when the thrusters are turned back into regular wheels.

There are so many cool mods for Cyberpunk 2077, but this is likely one that will get a lot of attention from fans. "Let There Be Flight" not only adds something that many have been waiting for since the game came out, but it's an excellently created modification. LastKnownMeal's video also goes through the installation instructions, which is very handy for anyone who wants to try Humbert's mod, but is not too familiar with how to go about installing custom add-ons.

The cars in Cyberpunk 2077 are an essential part of Night City. Of course, players can simply walk or run everywhere so they don't miss any of the details of the world, or they can fast travel to and from certain points. However, given that the map is estimated to be around 75 kilometers, although that's still only half of The Witcher 3, most players will want a vehicle in order to get around.

Despite having one of the most disastrous video game launches in recent history, even outdoing the likes of No Man's Sky, Cyberpunk 2077 has managed to come a long way, even if more work needs to be done. On top of that, fans now have the option to play with flying cars, which many will agree is something that has been a long time coming.

Cyberpunk 2077 is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
