Cyberpunk 2077 quest designer Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz reveals that he would like to put Meryl Streep in the game. If developer CD Projekt RED was able to cast the Hollywood star in the sci-fi RPG, she would join Keanu Reeves who plays rockstar Johnny Silverhand in the upcoming game.

Speaking to UK retailer GAME at E3 2019 after the surprise Keanu Reeves announcement, Tomaszkiewicz was asked which other famous actors he would like to see in Cyberpunk 2077. The developer says that he loves Meryl Streep and her performance as a fashion magazine editor in The Devil Wears Prada and "it would be great to have her as one of the characters in the game.”

Tomaszkiewicz also suggested that Streep "could be totally one of the big corporate characters in the game. I can picture this.” The corporate character seen in the Gamescom 2018 gameplay video does have the same commanding presence as Streep's editor in The Devil Wears Prada, so the multi-Academy Award winner would probably be a good choice, but potentially an expensive one.

While CD Projekt RED may be interested, Streep is one very busy woman. She can be seen in HBO's Big Little Lies and she has also signed on to star in a Netflix thriller called The Laundromat, another Netflix picture called The Prom, and she has a role in the new adaptation of Little Women. However, Keanu Reeves has just as much on his plate, starring in John Wick 3 and Always Be My Maybe, and he had time to record the second most amount of dialogue in the game.

If CD Projekt RED was able to get Streep in the game, her character would probably have to be added in DLC. The developer has said that it is planning DLC expansions for Cyberpunk 2077, releasing post-launch content like it did for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Streep could be a big part of one of these expansions if she can find the time.

If Streep and the developer can't work out a schedule, then it may not be a big deal. Cyberpunk series creator Mike Pondsmith has teased that Reeves may not be the only Hollywood actor to star in the game. Unless Tomaszkiewicz is doing a spectacular bit of double-bluffing, it's unlikely that Streep has done work on the game. However, when Cyberpunk 2077 launches there may well be a surprise famous cameo or two.

Cyberpunk 2077 will be released on April 16, 2020 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
