Cyberpunk 2077 developer CD Projekt RED reveals details about Maelstrom, a gang "obsessed" with cybertechnology. CD Projekt RED has also released teasers of groups like The Mox, which defends Night City's sex workers and Tyger's Claw, a gang that can be found in Night City's Japantown.

On Twitter, CD Projekt RED showed fans the logo of Cyberpunk 2077 gang Maelstrom. The gang can be found in the Night City district of Watson, as CD Projekt RED says that the district's factories and a location called the Totentanz Club are popular hangout spots for Maelstrom members. They may not be the type of people to party with though as the developer also says that Maelstrom is "obsessed with cybertechnology, and their urge to improve the weakness of human flesh is far stronger than their fear of cyberpsychosis."

Cyberpunk 2077 players are likely to have several run-ins with Maelstrom because player character V has an apartment in Watson, which fans were able to see part of in the first Cyberpunk 2077 gameplay video. Other important locations in the game, such as Victor's workshop — which belongs to ripperdoc Doctor Victor and Misty's Esoterica, which is a front for the doctor's business, can be found in Watson.

CD Projekt RED has confirmed that cyberware will be a big part of Cyberpunk 2077, as players are able to give their character new body parts able to make them stronger, faster, and more. However, it's unknown if these parts will be available from the start and the game could potentially make players work with gangs like Maelstrom to get them.

Many fans also want to know when the developer will allow them to see more of Cyberpunk 2077's gangs and corporations. Players have been able to see some gameplay of V talking to a member of the Voodoo Boys but there haven't been any other videos that show what it will be like to work with these groups.

However, CD Projekt RED has said that there will be some big Cyberpunk 2077 news in June, when the game will be part of an event called Summer of Gaming. This event could potentially offer new gameplay that features these gangs, corporations, and many more locations in Night City but nothing has been officially confirmed.

Cyberpunk 2077 releases September 17, 2020 for PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One.
