Debuting in CD Projekt Red's second Night City Wire stream, a brand new trailer for Cyberpunk 2077 has released, detailing more about the game's various lifepath options and how they'll affect the prologue and general story of the game. For those who aren't caught up with the immersive, sci-fi RPG, the early hours of Cyberpunk will ask players to select a background for their character, with each of the three different answers offering varying starting points and origins for the game's protagonist, V.

As has already been discussed by CD Projekt Red, the trio of options is Nomad, Street Kid, and Corpo, with each offering a vastly different version of V for the prologue. The trailer details exactly how these stories differ, offering a bigger insight into why each version of the character decides to embark on Cyberpunk's story and leave their vastly different lives behind.

The first to take the spotlight is Street Kid, which, as the name suggests, envisions a version of V that was raised on the rough streets of Night City. According to the character, "the whole street was [their] family," which seems to factor heavily into this version of the prologue, with V having a lot of connections with the game's variety of street thugs and shady dealers. The footage of the early hours of the game seems to pit V against the police as well, with the trailer showcasing an action-heavy encounter in which the protagonist is violently arrested alongside their friend Jackie Welles.

Nomad, on the other hand, steers towards a version of V that's completely alien to the rough streets of Night City. This take on the protagonist lives on the road with a band of other outcasts, seemingly beginning on the outskirts of the city amongst their people. Evidently, something happens to V's family, and they're forced to venture to Night City in search of a means to fix their problems. Along the way, it seems they'll meet new characters, including a mysterious woman who's seen drinking with V in a bar.

Finally, there's the Corpo lifepath, which seems to place V in a high-class position in the corporate world of Night City. Mixing with shady businessmen and corrupt officials, this path will seemingly see a version of the protagonist who enters the campaign after having been ostracized from their elite lifestyle.

As the protagonist puts it, "you wanna be top, you gotta have some skin in the game," and from the looks of the trailer's intense shootouts, it seems V's gamble doesn't pay off. Interestingly, this path also gives players another glimpse at Adam Smasher, a fully converted cyborg who seemingly will play the role of one of Cyberpunk 2077's main antagonists. All three paths give yet another great glimpse into what's shaping up to be one of the most exciting games of the generation so far.

Cyberpunk 2077 will be released on November 19th for PC, PS4, and Xbox One with PS5, Xbox Series X, and Stadia versions in development.
