One of Cyberpunk 2077's tedious gameplay mechanics may be entirely skippable if a newly-discovered exploit is any indication. The exploit may also have some exciting combat applications, allowing V to remotely use their vehicle like a battering ram.

A major aspect of Cyberpunk 2077's role-playing is the ability to collect cars and motorcycles from throughout Night City. While most vehicles cost quite a few Eurodollars, Cyberpunk 2077 makes some vehicles available for free, so even early-game players can get in on the action. V can summon vehicles at nearly any location in Night City, making them ideal for quick travel to new locations. Unfortunately, vehicles take some time to arrive at V's location once summoned - and thanks to the game's bugs, sometimes vehicles may end up driving away from V by mistake.

Reddit user u/myqline discovered that pressing the V key while jumping instantly summoned a requested vehicle. The vehicle arrives so rapidly, in fact, that it rams through another vehicle on arrival. Those commenting on the video noted that this could be used to strike down enemies during combat. On the other hand, players trying to choose Cyberpunk 2077's non-lethal combat options wherever possible will have to be extremely careful when using this exploit; if V's summoned car caused a parked car to go flying, it will surely do the same to any pedestrians unfortunate enough to be in its path.

Granted, the combat aspect of this exploit will likely be very situational. It would probably rely on V being near a street when fighting, such that V's car could arrive and run down foes in an instant. Much of the game's story-related combat takes place in buildings and other areas that are not accessible by car, so this exploit is useless in those circumstances. Still, street crimes are rampant in Night City, and many fights that start inside often end up spilling out onto the street. In any case, it's more useful than Cyberpunk 2077's Commando perk, which grants V enhanced stealth underwater in a city with barely any water.

This new exploit unintentionally serves as a widely-requested addition to the game: namely, the ability to weaponize the vehicle V earns at the end of the Delamain questline. An earlier mission shows off the Delamain fleet's combat capabilities, and many players were disappointed when those abilities weren't present in the drivable Delamain cab. While instantly summoning a cab is still a far cry from a vehicle optimized to strike down foes, it allows V to get some backup in a tough fight regardless.

It's worth noting that not every vehicle-related bug in Cyberpunk 2077 works in the player's favor. For example, some players have gotten stuck in an endless time loop of dying via exploding cars, thanks to the game occasionally autosaving at the worst possible time. Still, it's good that players are having some fun with the game's many quirks; hopefully, this will make it easier to wait until the game becomes more stable somewhere down the line.

Cyberpunk 2077 is available now on PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One, with PS5 and Xbox Series X versions coming this year.
