Cyberpunk 2077 is expected to be massive in size and scope no matter which angle it is viewed from, and Cyberpunk 2077's diverse gangs could certainly foster even further depth through the player's interactions in Night City.

With the exception of the rumored Tyger's Claw gang, ten other gangs are thus far confirmed and revealed in some context for being present in Cyberpunk 2077 and its various districts.

6th Street

6th Street is a vigilante gang established in order to protect the people of the Vista Del Rey district in Night City. This gang was originally created by veterans from the 4th Corporate War from which all the major corporations of the world used their technology and weaponry to try and push their financial agendas in the streets and battlefields.

Animals

Members of the Animals are considered to be the strongmen in this era of the 2070s, and believe in taking human abilities to their limits by utilizing testosterone, animal supplements, various steroid-like drugs, including "The Juice," and focus on melee combat enhancements. This street gang is present in west Pacifica district in Cyberpunk 2077, and are involved in a largescale gang feud with the Voodoo Boys which are also present in this district.

The Animals make their trade and profits by consolidating large portions of the illegal substance trade and futuristic gladiator-like underground fighting contests. Clearly, they are a Boostergang, which, in the world of Cyberpunk, means they are heavily dependent on bodily enhancements utilizing cybernetic technology in Cyberpunk 2077. Boostergangs are the most common and violent, often because they are suffering or nearing the severe mental disorder known as cyberpsychosis. This is caused by enduring too many cybernetic augmentations which overloads the neural network.

The Animals are secret allies for NetWatch, an anti-cybercrime unit. This could be a relationship built purely upon convenience, given Voodoo Boys are set out on a mission to destroy NetWatch's blackwall, a firewall-like system designed to keep A.I's in check.

Voodoo Boys

Cyberpunk 2077's Voodoo Boys deal in terrorism and drug dealing, with keen expertise in traditional non-synthetic drugs, which they sell to students near the University. The group is known to believe in superstitious and magic beliefs, and will often warn their victims ahead of time by leaving Chicken blood on the premises. They also engage in human sacrifices as part of their rituals.

Given that this gang is decentralized and ideologically driven, they have no physical headquarters and can never be fully infiltrated given its topology. Members of Voodoo Boys can often be seen at the ex-biker bar, Hababas. Much of the Voodoo Boys demographics are of Haitian origin, as the Haitian community largely took residence in Pacifica district in the 2060's after their home country was decimated, creating an influx of refugees to Night City.

Lizzies

Not much is known about the Lizzies, though they could represent some sort of personality cult, given that they are obsessed with the singer Lizzy Wizzy. Lizzy was most remembered for putting on one of the most fantastical performances as she committed suicide on stage, only for the Trauma Team group, on standby, to replace her body with cyberware, allowing her to spring back to life and finish the performance.

Maelstrom

Maelstrom is a combat gang based in the All Food plant in Watson District. Combat gangs are fixated on a "warrior's code" morality system in Cyberpunk 2077, with heavy focus on body armor and defense in their combat traits. Dressed heavily in leather, they like to boast their cyberware openly in order to make an intimidation statement.

Maelstrom was originally part of a previous gang known as the Metal Warriors, but when their leader was tossed aside, so too was their school of thought. What replaced the Metal Warriors in the ranks of Maelstrom was a much more primitive and threatening gang with little composure among many of its members who are already Cyberpsychos or on the borderline of becoming so.

The Maelstrom gang is currently hostile to Solos and Corporations as they attempt to attack large entities in their hunt for new technology and drugs in Cyberpunk 2077's city map.

Mox

The Mox gang in Cyberpunk 2077 could be some sort of workers' union gang, focused on labor rights and economic justice. They were formed in 2076 and named after Elizabeth "Lizzie" Borden, who was a strip club owner and ex-prostitute largely well known and respected for her fair treatment of her workers. The Mox specifically fixate on protecting female and male workers from violence and abuse.

Scavenger

Scavengers are an villainous gang in Cyberpunk 2077 who make their profits on kidnapping, extortion, and harvesting cyberwear from those they capture. They could have Russian origins, given the Scavenger Boss is shown with Soviet cyberwear, and its members speak Russian.

Steel Dragons

Japanese in origin and demographics, Steel Dragons was formed by Yorinobu Arasaka, who turned on the large corporation of Arasaka owned by his father, after discovering his father's secret goals. Though they are based in Japan and hellbent on destroying the corporate security, banking and manufacturing giant of Cyberpunk 2077's Arasaka Corporation, it is rumored they will have a branch of their gang present in Cyberpunk 2077's Night City. Their presence in Cyberpunk 2077 is not yet fully confirmed.

Cyberpunk-2077-Tyger-Claws-gang

Tyger's Claw

Similarly to Maelstrom, Tyger's Claw is a combat gang present in Cyberpunk 2077's Japantown and the areas surrounding that district. Tyger's Claw prefer to rely on traditional fighting, utilizing their martial arts skills and not becoming too dependent on cyberware. Also Japanese in origin, they are more ruthless and thuggish than the Steel Dragons, with plenty of street bikes and tattoos to boast.

Cyberpunk 2077

Valentinos

Valentinos is a mostly Latino gang focused on century-old traditions and are present in areas of Heywood. In Cyberpunk 2020, it appears that they were more of a poser gang focused on seducing attractive women in the city's night scene. However, in 2077, it appears they may be one of the larger gangs and pose some serious danger and authority when necessary. It is not yet clear what their ideology or overall mission is in the 2077 setting.

Wraiths

The last confirmed gang for Cyberpunk 2077 is the Wraiths, but not much is known about them yet, at least in the 2077 setting. Traditionally, in the Cyberpunk universe, the Wraiths were known for taking their victims' skin off and making clothes from it.

CD Projekt Red has kept Cyberpunk 2077 details to a minimal thus far, as fans will most likely have to wait and delve into Cyberpunk 2077 when it releases this September in order to obtain a more full picture of these unique and intimidating gangs, their agendas and how the player may interact with them.

Cyberpunk 2077 releases September 17, 2020 for PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One.
