After a very long wait, Polish developer, CD Projekt Red finally delivered a gameplay walkthrough of its highly anticipated open-world title, Cyberpunk 2077. The 48 minutes of footage showed off a dense urban sprawl, massive crowds of unique people, and an unbelievable amount of detail.

Since then, the developer has been fairly open with fans, providing little bits of detail here and there, such as the fact that there won't be any procedural elements, but there's still a lot to the game that isn't known, including the release date. In a mini Q&A session on Twitter, the official Cyberpunk 2077 account revealed a lot of new information about the game.

One of the first questions that was asked was in regards to companions that the player could interact and go on missions with. In the first gameplay footage, players were introduced to a hulking individual named Jackie. This character appears as the protagonist's sidekick, backing them up during tense shootouts or providing advice while walking around Night City. In the main game, players won't get a female version of Jackie if they ultimately select the male protagonist, but CD Projekt Red confirmed that other companions will be available to join the player during the campaign, including some that are female.

In addition, someone asked about the Epic Games Store, a new PC Games marketplace that has caused a stir since its introduction last December. With a higher profit share than other places like Steam, developers are starting to turn to this marketplace to make their games exclusive releases, with Metro Exodus being one example. CD Projekt Red won't be following this trend and will instead make Cyberpunk 2077 available to as many PC players as possible through places like Steam and GOG.

The question and answer session also confirmed that Cyberpunk 2077 won't be utilizing microtransactions once the game launches. This stance shouldn't surprise anyone based on CD Projekt Red's track record.

Prior to the release of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, the developer made it clear that they wanted to do right by its fans, offering 16 pieces of DLC on nearly a weekly basis for free. Not only that, the company has been very outspoken over what it views as greedy practices by other developers, even adding a hidden line in its Cyberpunk 2077 E3 2018 trailer stating "We leave greed to others."

Cyberpunk 2077 is expected to release for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, but the game has yet to receive an official release date.
