While Cyberpunk 2077 quickly became one of the most highly anticipated releases in 2020 before its tumultuous launch, the game's difficult development cycle is well documented. After being announced in a tease trailer over either years ago, Cyberpunk 2077 would suffer numerous delays before finally reaching its December 10, 2021 launch date. In order to even make that date, CD Projekt RED instituted mandatory crunch, which created a firestorm of controversy through the fanbase and gaming community.

Part of the issue outside of the negative impact of crunch on a studio's staff, is the fact that management previously stated it would not have to utilize crunch in order to get the game finalized. As players discovered, even with multiple delays and the extra work put into the title due to crunch, the launch version of Cyberpunk 2077 was far from perfect, especially on base version consoles like the Xbox One and PlayStation 4. As it turns out, it seems the game may have not been ready to go, with certain features even getting scrapped in order for the game to make it's December launch date.

Over on the Cyberpunk 2077 subReddit, players have begun to discover the existence of features that appear to have been removed entirely. Inside of Night City, players can see what appears to be train rails all throughout the various districts, though there are no trains anywhere to be found. Whether or not this would have been a fully ridable feature or simply to help the city feel more alive is anyone's guess at this point.

However, one user seems to have found evidence that CDPR had bigger plans for the train service. After finding their way onto the train tracks, Sybekul managed to come across both unfinished and completed art assets indicating that fully functioning trains were likely to be apart of the experience. A transit station can be found along the route, with a full neon sign and a working door that players can enter. However, after walking through the door and into the station, the building is missing all kinds of structures such as floors, walls, and a ceiling.

This isn't the first feature to be cut from the game. During a hands off demo of Cyberpunk 2077, gameplay showed the main character V being able to wall run to get to other places on the map. Unfortunately, this mechanic was ultimately scrapped due to what CDPR said was design reasons, much to the chagrin of fans. Players have also noticed other unfinished buildings around the city, items mentioned in conversation but don't actually appear in-game, and more.

Cyberpunk 2077 is out now for PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One, with PS5 and Xbox Series X versions also in development.
