CD Projekt RED responds to calls from the community for Cyberpunk 2077 to get an official cookbook. Games like Bungie's sci-fi RPG Destiny have gotten a cookbook, so it wouldn't be such a huge surprise to see Cyberpunk 2077 get a book of recipes of its own.

Cyberpunk 2077 Senior Level Designer Miles Tost has taken part in a community question and answer session on the game's Discord server. While fans had a huge number of questions, with many asking about Cyberpunk 2077's genital customization feature, some also wanted to know about official merch plans for the game.

When asked if an official Cyberpunk 2077 cookbook would be possible, Tost responded with "f--k yeah" before laughing and suggesting that a fan on YouTube would likely come up with one of their own. After a fan suggested that Tost should just go to the boss and say "I think the community wants a cookbook," the developer did seem to think it was a good point. "I mean, we did get a chair," said Tost, talking about the Cyberpunk 2077 Secretlab chair collaboration announced back in June.

Months before the game's release, there are a couple of potential recipes that could make it into a Cyberpunk 2077 cookbook. One official screenshot for the game shows V's best friend, Jackie Welles, about to chow down on a bowl of ramen noodles, though a couple of men have their guns drawn on him.

In one Cyberpunk 2077 gameplay demo, Jackie can be seen ordering a cocktail based on Johnny Silverhand, the character played by Keanu Reeves. That drink is made of a shot of tequila, a splash of cerveza (the word for "beer" in Spanish), and a chili garnish. In the Discord interview, Tost revealed that the cocktail was designed by CD Projekt RED developers who enjoy cocktails. The developers had suggested that Johnny Silverhand was once given a shot of tequila old-fashioned and didn't like it, so he decided to put some beer in it.

It's unclear if an official Cyberpunk 2077 cookbook could really happen, but plenty of other games have gotten their own cookbooks. Last year, Blizzard Entertainment's multiplayer shooter Overwatch also got its own cookbook, featuring recipes such as an Orisa sundae.

There have also been many other forms of Cyberpunk 2077 merch. CD Projekt RED has been selling an expensive Cyberpunk 2077 backpack for several months now, despite the game not having been released, so a cookbook could also be popular.

Cyberpunk 2077 launches November 19 on PC, PS4, and Xbox One, with PS5, Stadia, and Xbox Series X versions also in development.
