The upcoming launch of Cyberpunk 2077 is close. With only a few months to go, developers CD Projekt RED has promised that Cyberpunk 2077 will not be delayed again, feeling confident in the game's development.

It's no secret that Cyberpunk 2077 has been in some form of development as early as 2013, well before the release of the developer's other popular game, The Witcher 3. With a long development cycle comes a lot of man hours put into the gameplay mechanics, RPG systems, and industry leading visuals, ultimately equating to a huge financial investment by the developer until the final release of the game.

Recently it was revealed in a corporate report that CD Projekt RED has spent over $121 million in the development of Cyberpunk 2077. The costs involved in the development of the game include rebuilding the engine, hiring an A-list voice cast, and promotional material, such as the Night City Wire development diaries showcasing trailers of the game leading up to the November release.

In addition, the developer confirmed that the delay of the game has driven up costs up to 77% in 2020, though the work from home mandates due to Covid-19 certainly hasn't helped. Covid-19 has had a huge impact on the games industry as a whole with several games being delayed due to the impact of the virus. Several publishers have also resorted to online-focused events to promote upcoming games that would normally have a hands-on experience at conventions or publisher specific events over the summer.

CD Projekt RED is gearing up for the release of Cyberpunk 2077 indicating that PC specs for the game would soon be revealed. Cyberpunk 2077 looks to be an immense game, but the developer has promised the file size will not exceed 200 GB and more closely resemble The Witcher 3 in required HDD space. Recently, CD Projekt Red partnered up with NVIDIA releasing a trailer showing off the game's use of ray tracing and DLSS on the PC.

Meanwhile, a recent investors call for CD Projekt RED indicated that DLC plans for Cyberpunk 2077 will be much like the developers prior game, The Witcher 3. Though no further details were given regarding the DLC, it was promised that more information focusing on major expansions and free DLC for Cyberpunk 2077 would be revealed soon, before the game's official release. The major expansions are said to be in size and scope to The Witcher 3, which itself received 2 story-focused expansions along with a host of smaller DLC focusing on armor, side quests and weapons.

Cyberpunk 2077 launches on November 19 on PC, PS4 and Xbox One with PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X versions coming at a later date.
