Though its name wasn't previously unveiled on Cyberpunk 2077's official soundtrack, a new and unreleased ASAP Rocky song can be heard through the in-game car radio on The Dirge station.

Between the game's soundtrack and original score, years of work has gone into making the music for Cyberpunk 2077. In a YouTube video from the official Cyberpunk 2077 account, the composers detailed that the first ideas came from the 90s genres of IDM and industrial, which turned into much of the music being created electronically while incorporating the sounds of traditional instruments like cellos and drums. Many artists collaborated with CD Projekt Red to create the soundtrack, including Grimes, Run the Jewels, and SOPHIE - all of whom have alter egos in Night City.

Previously, rapper ASAP Rocky announced that he would have new music featured in the now-released game, and some fans are hearing it on 101.0 The Dirge radio as they drive around Night City. However, Rocky fans are annoyed because the song hasn't been officially released outside of Cyberpunk 2077, so The Dirge is the only way to listen to it currently. Though the song doesn't even have an announced name, his listeners are hopeful an official release will come soon now that Cyberpunk 2077 has been released.

Of course, some players are listening closely to the lyrics of ASAP Rocky's newest number, addressing colorism and issues of self-hatred, which fit well with Night City's dystopian paradise. "Man, when I was younger, I wished that I was light-skinned / now wouldn't trade the world for my skin," Rocky raps on the Cyberpunk 2077 track.

As with Rocky's new song, it's unclear when, or if, the Cyberpunk 2077 soundtrack will be fully released either as a disc or on streaming platforms like Spotify. Currently, players need to tune into the 11 radio stations that are available in-game to hear the complete soundtrack, though some individual numbers have been releases like Grimes' "Delicate Weapon." Each radio station is unique to a style of music, such as with 89.3 Radio Vexelstorm's EDM and 96.1 Ritual FM's metal.

It looks like some of the featured musical artists can even be found as characters in CD Projekt Red's newest game. Nina Kraviz is a ripperdoc in Cyberpunk, a nod to her background as dentist-by-day before jumping into music full-time. The character has her full face and voice, and with many music artists having a Night City alter ego, it's likely that others can be found around town as well.

Cyberpunk 2077 is available now for PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One, with PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions coming in 2021.
