It's hard to believe that it has been five years to the day since CD Projekt RED revealed the very first trailer for Cyberpunk 2077. That two-minute long video was enough to make the game one of the most highly anticipated titles around, but unfortunately, nothing has been shown off since.
However, a new tweet posted by the official Cyberpunk 2077 Twitter account suggests that this is about to change. Earlier today, the account posted a one-word message that just said "*beep*" and this was all that was needed to get fans of CD Projekt RED excited, wondering what it could mean.
The consensus from fans is that the account is hinting that a major Cyberpunk 2077 announcement is coming soon. While today is the five year anniversary of the first trailer release, the account didn't post any tweets to commemorate the anniversary during any other year. In fact, this is the first time that the account has posted anything at all in four and a half years. So this latest tweet suggests that CD Projekt RED has something major to share–so major that it needs to use the game's official Twitter account.

What also supports the announcement theory is the fact that CD Projekt RED has shared some information about the game in recent months. The developer shed a little bit of light on what fans can expect from the game's online features, for example.
Most recently, the developer assured fans that Cyberpunk 2077 would not be "greedy" like other games, and this statement managed to make people even more eager to play the game. It's possible that CD Projekt RED is finally tired of talking and wants to actually show players what it has been working on, instead of just describing it.
At this stage, it's unclear exactly what the announcement may entail. Fans would surely welcome gameplay footage with open arms, but is the developer ready to showcase that just yet? After all, Cyberpunk 2077 is much larger than The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and it may need a little bit more time before it shows off some of the ambitious gameplay that it has been teasing. It's also possible that CD Projekt RED plans to give players a release window (e.g confirmation that the game will be out in 2019), giving fans a date to jot down in their calendars.
Whatever CD Projekt RED has to share about the game, fans will be hoping that the wait has been worth it. Fingers crossed that some big Cyberpunk 2077 news will be revealed soon.
Cyberpunk 2077 is currently without an official release date and has yet to be announced for specific platforms.
