It is without a doubt that Cyberpunk 2077 is one of the most highly-anticipated games that is set to release this year. Unfortunately, CD Projekt Red revealed several weeks ago that Cyberpunk 2077 has been delayed to September 17, given that the studio needs extra time to polish the game and bring it to a level that is "complete and playable." Now, CD Projekt Red's Head of Studio, John Mamais, recently revealed an update on what players could expect in the upcoming game.

In an interview with OnMSFT, Mamais revealed that while he couldn't give an exact estimate of the game's overall length, players will be given plenty to do in Cyberpunk 2077 given that the upcoming sci-fi RPG will contain about 75 'street stories' throughout Night City. "There's a couple of layers", Mamais said. "There's a passive layer, which is the vendors, then there's the STSs, which are the street stories. I think there are about 75 street stories. Then there are minor activities as well."

Mamais then explained that street stories are like small quests that players could pursue apart from the game's main campaign. These quests will have their own unique stories, but they will not advance the overall plot of Cyberpunk 2077. However, Mamais further explained that these side quests are still worth pursuing, given that they will level-up the player's character, and allow them to explore the world and fully immerse themselves to the lore of Cyberpunk 2077.

Later in the interview, Mamais teased other aspects of the upcoming game, such as the real-time global illumination system that hasn't been showcased in its full glory as of the moment. Mamais didn't go into detail as what the global illumination system actually is, but commented that it's going to make Cyberpunk 2077 stand out from the crowd and will "look more breathtaking than we've seen so far." As far as audio is concerned, the developer praised the sound design of Cyberpunk 2077, and even recommends players that if they could afford it, they should pick up a Dolby Atmos sound system to fully appreciate the game that is "very immersive, deep, and beautiful sounding."

Unfortunately, the developer did not go into detail on when it plans to showcase the global illumination system, and the "breathtaking" sound design of Cyberpunk 2077. Interestingly enough, the game has been confirmed to be in attendance at the upcoming Taipei Game Show, where news and brand new previews of several highly-anticipated titles of 2020 will be showcased. Apart from Cyberpunk 2077, The Last of Us 2, Final Fantasy 7 Remake, and Nioh 2 will also be participating in the event that will run from February 6th to 9th.

Cyberpunk 2077 is scheduled to release on September 17, 2020, for the PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One.
