Since its release, Cyberpunk 2077 has clearly proven that the game is far from a finished product. Although CD Projekt Red has since denied any developmental issues, it has been hard for players to deny that a lot of content seems to be cut, or is missing from the game entirely. One thing players have wondered is if the game features an unlockable sixth node on the character customization screen. This article contains minor spoilers for Cyberpunk 2077

Cyberpunk 2077 features five distinct skills: Body, Reflexes, Technical Ability, Intelligence, and Cool. Within each of these attributes are entire skill trees that give V access to specific perks. For example, a Body perk might prevent enemies from knocking V down, while a Cool perk might increase the damage V does to enemies while undetected. Although the menu seems pretty straight forward in what it does allow players to upgrade, a space between Intelligence and Cool appears to hint at an unlockable ability.

Is There A 6th Attribute to Unlock?

At the moment, it's unknown how to unlock the sixth attribute, if there is even one to unlock. Hovering over the empty node displays a glitchy effect, though it appears that this feature hasn't been implemented into the game. Some players have theorized that the empty node is tied to Johnny Silverhand's percentage on the pause menu, but many have finished the game and confirmed that the rocker currently has no affiliation with V's skill tree.

As a result, it appears that CD Projekt Red originally intended for V to have access to six different attributes, but the final one was cut either due to time constraints or implementation issues. The company hasn't been secretive with removing content from the game that wouldn't work due to design reasons, and this may be no different. Despite how uncanny it is for developers to leave the UI unchanged rather than reflecting the lack of a sixth skill, the numerous other issues with the game makes something like this a comparatively small oversight.

That said, the company may have plans to add the sixth attribute among other content in future DLC. CD Projekt Red's previous game, The Witcher 3, saw two major DLCs, one of which added 12 new skills, as well as numerous smaller DLC content that included quests, armor, weapons, and a New Game+ mode. With Cyberpunk 2077 purportedly getting free DLC this year, a new attribute as part of a future update or patch could be in the makings.

Cyberpunk 2077 is available now on PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Stadia, with PS5 and Xbox Series X versions in development.
