Cyberpunk 2077 launched to mostly positive reviews from critics though the game's underwhelming performance on all systems has been a matter of concern for many. Console fans are especially disappointed by the plethora of game-breaking issues that plague the game and haven't been fixed yet. Many have taken to social media to show their frustrations and as it seems, got "Cyberbug2077" to trend on Twitter.

The performance of Cyberpunk 2077 on base PS4 and Xbox One is not looking good. The game's frame rate often dip down to 20 or lower and the resolution flickers between 720 to 900p, making it look like a PS3/Xbox 360 game at times. The scarcity of PS5 and Xbox Series X/S in the market means that most console players have had to experience this highly anticipated game on their seven years old systems. However, people playing the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S version of the game have experienced their own set of issues including frequent crashes, texture pop-ins, and more.

Players have been extremely vocal on social media platforms regarding Cyberpunk 2077's current situation. While it started off as a serious affair, many fans are now making fun of the game and its various flaws. And hence they got "Cyberbug2077" trending on Twitter. While it's not clear how started, it seems to be the norm at the moment. Twitter user "Shoutgun" posted two pictures, one of which is of Johnny Silverhand from the cinematic trailer and the other represents an in-game shot that shows a half-rendered NPC, saying that he feels like playing a PS2 game.

Another user "legendary sparrow" compared the game with No Man's Sky, which also had a rough launch back in 2016. Similarly, user Alex Monroe compared Cyberpunk 2077 with last year's WWE 2K20, saying that both games were not meant to release when they did. While user "Lettuce Lord Chanclas" seemed optimistic, saying that he did not care about the bugs and that the game is beautiful.

While Cyberpunk 2077 does look inexplicably gorgeous on a high-end PC,  it's no excuse that its console counterpart looks like a Nintendo Switch port, as the game was targeting current-gen consoles from the beginning. The lack of a proper next-gen upgrade for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S at the moment also adds to the growing number of problems for console users. While CD Projekt Red has released a hotfix for PC and PS4, that fixes over 15 quests, as well as other tweaks in the performance and visual department, it's still far from a perfect game. Moreover, Xbox users have yet to receive a hot-fix, which CD Projekt confirmed is working on right now.

Cyberpunk 2077 is now available on PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One, with a free upgrade coming to PS5 and Xbox Series X in 2021.
