Cyber Shadow has arrived. The 8-bit 2D Ninja action-platforming game is receiving high praise, as Yacht Club Games was able to publish Cyber Shadow to the Switch, PlayStation, PC, and Xbox. But the throwback to 80s style action games is also available on another platform, Xbox Game Pass.

Xbox Game Pass boasts many games, providing all Microsoft first-party games for free as a part of the subscription, and plenty of other games as well. Cyber Shadow is just the latest example of this. The subscription is something that so many Xbox users enjoy, so Cyber Shadow should be a welcome addition.

Cyber Shadow has reviewed well as a game that takes elements from Ninja Gaiden, Mega Man, Contra, and other classic NES titles. The gameplay is difficult and challenging, yet also rewarding thanks to precise movement and controls. The music also sets it apart, combining elements of old-school gaming with the technology of today.

Yacht Club Games created an unparalleled hit with Shovel Knight, and it has kept the game going with updates and DLC, culminating with Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove. It seems to have kept the momentum going by publishing Cyber Shadow, a game also in the same retro vibe. The indie developer of Cyber Shadow, Mechanical Head Studios, consists of a single member, Aarne Hunziker (with a composing team as well). Now, Xbox Game Pass subscribers can enjoy the game for free with the membership as well.

Cyber Shadow is available now on the PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
