Much like Hades, Curse of the Dead Gods is a top-down, death-defying, intense, and blood-soaked action rogue-lite, not to be confused with roguelikes. Also much like Hades, Curse of the Dead Gods has been in early access for close to a year before releasing to the masses, but that all changes with today's announcement.

Early access can sometimes seem to go on forever, just look at Fortnite's 3 year-long beta treatment, but most of the time early access is a great way for developers to work out bugs, balance mechanics, and fund the development of the game up to release. Curse of the Dead Gods went into early access in March of 2020 and now officially have a date to release on.

In a trailer early this morning, publisher Focus Home Interactive announced that on February 23rd, Curse of the Dead Gods will release on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. Although, with the game still being in early access until then, gamers can still purchase the game on Steam for its early access price of $17.99 up until January 22nd. Developers and publishers usually offer their games at a discounted price during the early access period in order to entice players to pick it up and help them make the game better. As such, it is still unclear as to what the price tag will be on Curse of the Dead Gods at launch.

With many gamers choosing indie games over AAA ones, Curse of the Dead Gods is sure to excite many while also having everything an action/rogue-lite fan could ask for with tons of weapons, traps, enemies, bosses, curses, and of course a story. While in early access the developers Passtech Games intentionally left out the final act of the rogue-lite's story so all who purchase the game, before or after the official release, will get to experience the game together.

Curse of the Dead Gods will release on February 23rd for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC. Currently available on PC through early access.
