The developers behind Curse of the Dead Gods are excited to share an upcoming cross-over with Motion Twin and Evil Empire, the developers of the popular indie game Dead Cells. The update is titled Curse of the Dead Cells and will feature a new curse, new weapons, and a new type of Challenge Room, all inspired by Dead Cells.

The new curse introduced in this update, out on April 14, is known as the Curse of the Headless. This infliction will allow players to be able to increase their speed while taking on more damage. The curse will also feature a "visual twist" said to be symbolic of Dead Cells' main protagonist.

As needed for all fun action games, the update also introduces three new weapons for players to choose from: the Sword of Conjunctivius, the Broadsword of the Knight, and the Crossbow of the Condemned. These items are based on the Broadsword, the Cursed Sword, and the Explosive Crossbow, originally found in Dead Cells. The two swords will have similar effects to their predecessors, while the crossbow will be an entirely new weapon for Curse of the Dead Gods.

Along with a new Challenge Room to be discovered, the teams also included a third way to collect cursed items. Now, players will be able to earn cursed weapons or relics from Cursed Chests. Once opened, players will be tasked with defeating a specific number of enemies, without taking damage. If the player takes a hit, they lose the loot.

Curse of the Dead Gods is available for PC, PlayStation 4, Switch, and Xbox One.
