At The Game Awards show last year, fans were given a look at a piece of DLC that many have been highly anticipating after a few delays, Cuphead: The Delicious Last Course. This trailer for Cuphead: The Delicious Last Course showed off a number of aspects that made its base game a hit, with brutally difficult and twisted bosses, all wrapped in the game's signature Rubberhose style of cartoony animation. It also featured Ms. Chalice as a playable character, who will be assisting Cuphead and Mugman in their adventures through the Inkwell Isles.

Despite the many delays it faced, fans were happy regardless to see an expansion of what made the 2017 gun-and-runner great, complete with how Ms. Chalice herself plays in comparison to Mugman and Cuphead. The latest gameplay footage for Cuphead: The Delicious Last Course was shown off at Summer Game Fest 2022, which featured a boss fight against a snowman who transforms into a living snowflake. Not too long after this showcase, the developers at Studio MDHR announced that the DLC itself has gone gold.

For the uninitiated, "going gold" is a term used in the gaming industry that indicates that a game has reached a point where it has passed certification testing and master copies can be produced. Usually, this is done so that physical discs can begin production so that they can be shipped to retailers like GameStop. In this instance, Cuphead: The Delicious Last Course is in a state where fans can download it off of digital storefronts when it launches in late June.

Not only that, but Studio MDHR also revealed how much this DLC will cost when it launches. Fans can purchase this expansion for only $7.99 USD, and other equivalents across digital stores like Steam and GOG. With the amount of content coming to this Cuphead DLC, some fans might have expected the price to be higher, especially when it has been in development for four years.

This is especially good timing, considering Cuphead's next batch of episodes on Netflix will also be arriving later in August, which also focus on Ms. Chalice and other residents of the Inkwell Isles. This includes fan-favorite bosses such as Captain Brineybeard and Baroness Von Bon Bon, who will be making their debuts in these episodes. Cuphead fans have a lot to look forward to this Summer in both games and animation.

Cuphead: The Delicious Last Course will release on June 30, 2022 for Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
