Without a doubt, Cuphead fever seems to have struck in the gaming world, as the video game developer Studio MDHR's run and gun indie title has managed to be lauded by both fans and critics alike for its unique art style, madcap gameplay, and intense learning curve, as even our own review posits that the release is an "instant classic." Now, it looks as if its creators are looking to further capitalize on its popularity, with the developer having announced a partnership with the vinyl toy manufacturer Funko Pop to release figures for some of the game's characters later this year.

As seen in the gallery of Cuphead characters below, the titular Cuphead will be getting his own Funko Pop figurine, as will his brother, Mugman, with both standing at 4 inches tall and coming in November 2017. Not to mention, the game's antagonist, the Devil, is also set to receive a vinyl model, and it will stand in at a "super-sized" 6 inches, and will release sometime this November as well.

In addition to the aforementioned new toys, Funko Pop has also revealed that there will be an exclusive pair of Cuphead and Mugman figurines (as seen directly above) that will be available at this year’s New York Comic Con that will have both characters in a special black-and-white finish, which is an allusion to the title's secret game mode. For those unaware, New York Comic Con will occur this weekend in the Big Apple, from October 5 to October 7, 2017.

Taking all of this into consideration, it will be interesting to see just how coveted these forthcoming Cuphead figures will be when it comes to the other video game-related toys released by Funko in the past, especially since the characters from the run and gun indie title retain their in-game design attributes for the most part. For the sake of comparison, the Overwatch figures wear the same costumes, but are given a special set of eyes and lack of a mouth that are only seen on Funko Pop toys, so by simply keeping the Cuphead toys within the realm of their original art style, it's quite possible fans will scoop them up post-haste.

Cuphead is out now for PC and Xbox One.
