After a trailer for Crysis Remastered leaked online to a less-than-stellar reaction, Crytek announced the remaster's delayed so developers can work on "a number of things in-game," including the storefront. In the meantime, fans of the classic Crysis Trilogy can get their fill thanks to EA Access, which has made Crysis, Crysis 2, and Crysis 3 available through Xbox One's backward compatibility.

EA Access is a subscription service similar to other developers' offerings like Ubisoft's Uplay that is available on Xbox One, PS4, and was recently announced for Steam. The addition of this highly-acclaimed first-person shooter trilogy to Xbox One was unveiled yesterday by the service's official Twitter account, which co-opted the classic "Can it run Crysis?" meme referencing the series' infamous difficulty to run with full graphical capabilities when it debuted in the mid-2000s.

Despite this original difficulty, the advancement of technology over the last decade has made it much more feasible to run Crysis and its sequels on consoles, as evidenced by the EA Access addition. That being said, multiple comments underneath the post on Twitter have decried the service for having issues downloading the games in their first day, while others find it odd that they are also not available on PlayStation.

Crysis Remastered should not have this same issue as far as availability goes, considering it is in development for all modern consoles including the Nintendo Switch. However, its delay due to perceived issues from fans means the world will have to wait and see how well the game holds up rebuilt from the ground-up.

The Crysis Trilogy is available now on Xbox One through EA Access.
