Crysis 2's Release Date Delayed Until March 22nd, 2011

Crysis 2 Review

Today Crytek sent out a message via Twitter announcing the new release date of Crysis 2: March 22nd, 2011 in North America and March 25th, 2011 in Europe. That of course is pushed back from the original scheduled release of holiday 2010 that we saw in one of the first trailers.

No explanation as to what spurred the change, we can only hope that we will be getting a more epic, more polished final product, but it looks like it is going to be amazing. Disasters have been devastating the earth and society is shutting down.  Of course this means a perfect time for the aliens to bring a full invasion to earth and annihilate all of humanity, starting with New York.

The aliens have taken to the streets, turning New York into a post apocalyptic nightmare, bringing its citizens to their knees and the destroying the iconic skyline. It is a new, New York. The police and military are no match for the aliens, their technology is not enough to be able survive, much less assault and push back the invaders. It is up to you,  as a supersolder with the best weapons and armour, to save the city... and earth.

Crysis 2

Crysis 2 will yet again bring cutting edge graphics, bringing our gaming rigs to their knees.  Add to that their touted best-in-class AI using a unique group coordination and group behavior systems, and engrossing multiplayer, you can bet those playing on their PC’s will be shelling out for an upgrade or two.  And you will need it to power the stunning new CryEngine 3.

Of course besides being available on the PC, it will also be on the Xbox 360, and the PS3, giving us other powerful playing options if our rig’s are not up to the challenge.

Though I am a mouse and keyboard FPS fan, I think I will probably go with the Xbox 360 version myself. What about you? Which way will you play the game, if at all?
