With a story that will be making use of the “massive potential” of the video game medium, Crysis 2 sounds like it’s going to be a pretty cool game. Of course, even if it was the coolest game in the world, that wouldn’t help if no-one bought it. After all, how can you buy a game if you don’t know what it looks like? Luckily for you, dear readers, Crytek Studios has unveiled the official box art for the game, and we have it right here for your viewing pleasure.

The box art doesn’t seem to hold that much new information (although, if you notice anything interesting, don’t hesitate to post it in the comments below!) and, to be quite honest, is a rather bland and boring piece of art. You have an ominous, dark figure in the foreground, surrounded by a dark, barren New York. Sure, that may be the premise of the title, but jazz it up a little, guys! A little splash of color here and there would work wonders. Even if my PC could handle Crysis 2, I’m not sure I’d want to buy it, purely because of the cover. It’s just not appealing at all.

What do you think of the unveiled box art? Are you looking forward to Crysis 2?

Crysis 2 will be rampaging onto PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 during the holiday season in 2010.
