A brand new Crysis 2 trailer hit today that details the power imbued by the Nanosuit 2. It also features some brand new gameplay footage and delves a bit into some of the mystery behind the development of the Nanosuit 2, which apparently has been in the works for one hundred years.
Building a better human being has always been a dream of scientists, so why wouldn't author Richard Morgan include it in the storyline in the form of a mysterious figure who's narrating the trailer?
The suit features that were present in the first Crysis game, like tagging enemies on radar, increased armor, increased speed, cloaking, and of course powersliding, all appear to have been carried into Crysis 2. Take a look at the Crysis 2 Be Strong trailer:
If anything, this new footage has to make you do at least one of two things: be dazzled by how incredible the game looks (due to the power of CryEngine 3), and want to play the demo which is available now. The urban combat that will be portrayed through the now-destroyed New York City looks very impressive.
The shooter sandbox aspect of the game is also shown off, again made possible by the Nanosuit 2. Kicking people literally to death, kicking cars, and throwing very heavy things all adds a tiny bit of variety in dispatching the numerous enemy forces in highly unrealistic, yet entertaining ways.
Despite being delayed for a short period of time, Crysis 2 looks fantastic. There appear to be enough gameplay mechanics to help the game stand out from the normal first person shooter experience, which just might be enough to tear gamers away from Black Ops, even if it's just for a little bit.
