Crusader Kings 3 is the third game in the popular medieval grand strategy/life sim series. The series is famous for the sheer amount of depth and options it offers it's players.

Despite having been released back in September, Paradox Interactive is still hard at work making new updates for Crusader Kings 3. This includes everything from new features to little bugfixes.

In its most recent Developer Diary, Paradox detailed the newest major feature that's set to be added to the next free update: dueling. The system will be able to simulate almost any type of fight, from battlefield duels to bar brawls. According to Paradox, duels will take into account the character's stats and traits, such as those Crusader Kings players can customize in the character designer, when determining what the player's options are.

Unlike  Crusader King's randomly generated poetry, dueling is a feature that was already in the series. It was originally added back in the Way of Life expansion to Crusader Kings 2, where characters could challenge each other to duels or become embroiled in battlefield duels.

Duels have been a long-requested feature for Crusader Kings 3, from as long as players learned they wouldn't be returning from Crusader Kings 2. The game is best known for the amazing stories that come out of how the characters interact, and this will just add more interactions to create more amazing stories.

While these little updates are interesting, what players most want to hear about are the upcoming DLC packages. At least two pieces of DLC could be preordered at launch, but neither has been revealed by Paradox yet. While these free updates are fun, players probably won't be satisfied until they can know what the upcoming expansions are about.
