CrossCode, the throwback Action RPG from indie dev Radical Fish Games, has been showered with praise for taking inspiration from classic SNES era games and updating them for modern tastes. Now it's getting a push not only in the form of CrossCode's physical release, but also a bump by being included on the Xbox Game Pass.

The game follows Lea, a character who has not only lost her memories, but who is also a mute. Not in the same way that many RPG main characters simply fall into the 'silent protagonist' trope; Lea cannot speak. This makes her quest to recover her memories more compelling as she does so without any dialogue. Lea must dive into an MMORPG and explore a futuristic world, meet other players, and overcome the challenges set before her.

After a successful launch on Steam in 2018, the game has finally landed on consoles for a whole new audience to discover. CrossCode is not only getting a splashy physical release, but is also going to be included in the Xbox Game Pass for July. Sitting next to big name franchises Soulcalibur and Fallout in this month's pass, CrossCode will be one of three titles offered to Xbox One players.

Often the games that find their way into the Xbox Game Pass program (or the similar PS Plus program) are a tad dated, but may have been missed by players. For a new release to be included is unusual, but it shows that Xbox's Game Pass program has faith in CrossCode to draw players in. The reviews for CrossCode recommend players pick it up, and now that it's part of the Game Pass, it's easier than ever to do so.

CrossCode is available now on PS4, Steam, Switch, and Xbox One.
