An update to the PlayStation database has revealed the file sizes for the PS4 and PS5 versions of the upcoming Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7 Reunion. Square Enix made waves earlier this year when the Final Fantasy developer announced a remake of the previously PSP-exclusive Final Fantasy 7 prequel. With the game set to launch next month, Square Enix has been rolling out details about everything players can expect from the highly-anticipated remake. Now, a new leak has given players an idea of how much space they'll need to save Crisis Core to their consoles.Crisis Core comes as Square Enix's recent releases have placed a heavy focus on the ongoing remakes of the Final Fantasy 7 portion of the franchise. The company brought the first part of the remake to PS5 and PC last year with Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade, an enhanced version including the Intermission episode featuring Yuffie. The developer reportedly has two more games planned for the remake series, with the second part planned for 2023. Players looking to pick up the prequel on PS4 will need to set aside 40.496 GB for the game's Version 1.01 on launch. PS5 players downloading Crisis Core will need significantly less space to store the game, however, with the PS5's Version 1.001.000 only needing 20.993 GB. Pre-load is set to be available two days before the game's launch on December 11 for players looking to pre-order.

Square Enix has revealed that the Crisis Core remake is set to feature several improvements coming with the new version. Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7 Reunion will feature an arranged soundtrack and full voice acting featuring the Final Fantasy 7 Remake cast, as well as HD graphics and revamped summoning animations. The game will also reportedly feature changes to streamline Crisis Core's signature "DMW" system, as well as adding an ability gauge for enemies.

The upcoming release of Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7 Reunion comes as the Final Fantasy franchise looks to have plenty on the horizon for fans. Final Fantasy 7 Remake is set to receive its second chapter next year with the launch of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. Square Enix has also shown off the next major entry in the franchise as a whole with the highly-anticipated Final Fantasy 16 reportedly planned to launch next year. Crisis Core will give fans the chance to re-visit a beloved Final Fantasy title with remastered graphics and revamped gameplay.

Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7 Reunion will release on December 13 for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
