Seeming like they couldn't be topped, it appears that the boxing fights in the upcoming Creed 3 will be some of the best, if not the best, in the entire Rocky franchise. At least, that's according to Jacob "Stitch" Duran.

MGM's Creed films, which are spin-off/sequel films to the Rocky franchise, have been worthy continuations with Jordan in the lead role as Adonis, the son of Apollo Creed. During an interview with Fred Talks Fighting, Duran suggested Creed 3 will surpass the previous films in an important manner and offer a fresh story.

Duran, who served as a cutman -- a person responsible for preventing and treating physical damage to a fighter during the breaks between rounds -- on Rocky Balboa and both Creed films, hinted at the brilliant fights scenes that will take place in Creed 3, while also revealing the unique story Jordan has cooked up. “We finished filming a month ago, it’s going to be very exciting," Duran said." Michael B. Jordan did a great job, the plot of the film is completely different, it’s not like Rocky, it’s a completely different story, with great fights, probably the best-coordinated fights I’ve ever seen."

From Ryan Coogler's one-take boxing sequence in the first Creed film that puts the audience in Adonis' shoes to the POV shots director Steven Caple Jr. utilized in the sequel, it's hard to imagine what more the crew could've brought to the table in terms of the boxing scenes. But going off of Duran's comments and realizing the experience Jordan has gained from playing this particular character and filming these intense fight scenes, it appears audiences may just be in for something truly special and unexpected. Jordan makes his directorial debut with Creed 3, and it appears he's more than holding his own in the role.

While further plot details remain a secret, new addition Jonathan Majors, who will play Jordan's adversary in the film, Anderson Dame, has shared that the Creed 3 story is much different. According to Majors, the story is more intimate and therefore complex.

The boxing drama will see Tessa Thompson and Phylicia Rashad reprise their roles as Bianca Taylor and Mary Anne Creed, respectively, as well as Florian Munteanu and Wood Harris as Viktor Drago and Tony "Little Duke" Evers, respectively. Coogler and his brother Keenan are working on the story and screenplay.

Creed 3 is now set to release in theatres on March 3, 2023.
