Creative Assembly is the studio behind the critically acclaimed Halo Wars 2 and Total War franchise, with several entries in the latter especially. Despite the studio's strength being in the real-time strategy genre, some heads of the company have discussed wishing to break out into other genres as well. The sci-fi horror title Alien Isolation is evidence of this, where it became a fan favorite of many horror gamers, with fans praising how it made the alien Xenomorph a true threat. Fans have been teased of a new AAA first-person shooter from the studio for awhile now, with Creative Assembly providing some information of it through some job posts.

This game has been mentioned before through other job listings. In 2018, it detailed that the studio was working on a "tactical FPS," with not much to go off at the time. Two years later in 2020, Sega of Europe confirmed that Creative Assembly was working on an FPS game in an interview. The latest job posting on the studio's site, however, gives some more information, as well as the genre of this upcoming title.

The listing was posted earlier today, with one being for a Senior Core Technology Programmer position. According to the page, this is an important position that is working closely with other members of the team in developing the core gameplay systems. This game will be using the Unreal Engine, with this game also aimed to be for multi-platform as well.

Creative Assembly has said previously that this game is looking to be the start of a new IP for the studio, being a "tactical FPS" as stated prior. This new job listing indicates that it will keep the first-person shooter aspect of the game, but it will be going down a Sci-Fi approach, much like the setting of Alien Isolation. The tweet regarding this posting also indicates that it will be a multiplayer game as well.

Other positions for this team have been posted to the careers section of Creative Assembly's website. These include a Release Manager, Lighting Artist, UI Artist, and QA Tester, all of which have varying levels of position hierarchy. It's unknown how much pre-planning or production of this game has been done so far, or if the "tactical FPS" portion of that previous job listing still applies to this upcoming title. However, Creative Assembly has been busy for the last few years, and hopefully this game can live up the expectations placed upon the studio.
