A new Crash Bandicoot game may have been discovered via a leak online going around over the weekend. The game's name is Crash Wumpa League, and it has been speculated on for some time now after Naughty Dog teased its existence in some press materials. Crash Wumpa League is believed to be a multiplayer party game. The latest leak reveals a development timeline for Crash Wumpa League, with one key detail standing out - Crash Wumpa League was originally supposed to launch this month.

The timeline in question reportedly came from a Toys for Bob employee's portfolio website, but was first shared online by Twitter user Kingdom_Finder. There are two timelines in the leaked image, the first showing the development plans for Crash Bandicoot 4 and the second for Crash Wumpa League. It's on this timeline that a Closed Alpha was originally scheduled for January 2021, a Closed Beta for June 2021, Open Beta in August, and a launch on PlayStation and Xbox by October.

Crash Wumpa League's timeline is, obviously, ignorable to a degree. The timeline goes back to August 2019, notably before the COVID-19 pandemic arrived. It's safe to assume that even if Crash Wumpa League's development was on track up to that point, it has deviated significantly since. It's possible that the game's been reworked, canceled, restarted, or undergone any number of changes since 2019. It's also possible that development has continued, just somewhat delayed, and that Crash Wumpa League could be announced within a year.

Prior to the testing and release schedule details, there are some other interesting bits of Crash Wumpa League information worth looking at on the timeline. For example, the timeline references the addition of Heroes and Maps to the game, building to 16 Heroes and 12 Maps by launch. There's also a reference to a Loot System, which brings up a question about just what kind of game Crash Wumpa League really is.

Some rumors have mentioned Crash Wumpa League being a 3D platformer. From these rumors, it's been mentioned that Crash Wumpa League is either like Mario Party or like Fall Guys. Considering the game's been in development since 2019 or earlier, however, it's unlikely to be much like Fall Guys since Fall Guys hadn't been released yet.

The popularity of Crash Bandicoot over the past several years has been undeniable. Starting with the remastered collection of the original Crash Bandicoot trilogy released in 2017, Activision has since released both a Crash Team Racing: Nitro-Fueled remaster and Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time. As such, fans should not be surprised to see more Crash Bandicoot before long, whether it's Crash Wumpa League or something else.

Crash Wumpa League is rumored to be in development.
