Earlier today, Nintendo surprised its fans with the announcement that Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy would be coming to the Nintendo Switch on July 10. Those without a PS4 or Nintendo Switch shouldn't worry, though, because the remastered versions of all three original Crash Bandicoot adventures will also be making their way to PC and Xbox One on the same day.

The announcement that Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy is also coming to PC and Xbox One was made by the official Crash Bandicoot Twitter account not long after the end of the Nintendo Direct presentation. It's unclear if these versions of the game will have any added bells and whistles to sweeten the pot, but at this time, it appears as though fans can expect the same experience across all platforms.

Activision bringing Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy to multiple platforms is in line with many leaks from last year that outed PC and Xbox One versions of the game. By these leaks, it's clear that Activision has been planning on this for a long time, and this announcement could give fans an idea of what to expect from potential future games in the series.

After all, it was leaked that Activision has a five year plan for the Crash Bandicoot franchise, which apparently includes a brand new game in 2019. Since Activision went through the trouble of bringing the N. Sane Trilogy to Nintendo Switch, PC, and Xbox One as well as PS4, it follows that the new Crash Bandicoot game (if it even exists), will also be a multiplatform release.

Some PlayStation purists may be upset to see the PS1's former mascot brought to all platforms, but this isn't the first time Crash has been seen on other consoles. In fact, almost every Crash Bandicoot game released since Crash Team Racing has been a multiplatform title, with Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex appearing on PS2, GameCube, and the original Xbox all the way back in the early 2000s.

While some fans may not want to see the original Crash Bandicoot games on anything other than PlayStation, Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy on Switch, PC, and Xbox One will give gamers that never owned a PS1 or PS4 a chance to check out some of the most highly acclaimed platformers of their time. And if Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy sells as well on those platforms as it did on PS4, it will only make Activision more interested in pursuing a brand new game in the series.

Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy is available now for PS4 and will launch for Nintendo Switch, PC, and Xbox One on July 10.
