It appears that some of the voices behind the Crash Bandicoot series are working on a new project. The launch of Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time joined a long history of beloved Crash Bandicoot games. Based on an Instagram post from one of the voice actors from the recent game, another could be on the way.

Crash Bandicoot 4 continues to perform well, and helped lead to the release of a Crash Bandicoot mobile game; Crash Bandicoot: On the Run. Two of the voice actors from the successful platformer recently teamed up for another mysterious project, and they have shared small hints and details with fans.

Scott Whyte took over as the voice actor of Crash Bandicoot in Crash Bandicoot 4, meanwhile Lex Lang has been the voice of Dr. Neo Cortex for many years. According to a recent Instagram post, the two of them are working together on a new unannounced project, though that the project may or may not be Crash Bandicoot related. In the post, Whyte says the project is not Crash Bandicoot before doing a 180 by jokingly asking, "Or is it?"

If the new project is not related to Crash Bandicoot, it would certainly be interesting to bring two popular voice actors together for a non-Crash related game. It could also be that Scott Whyte is referring to something not video game-related altogether, but still something Crash Bandicoot-themed. Many think that a Crash Bandicoot animated series would be a great idea, and perhaps the duo is hard at work on that project. For now, nothing is confirmed.

This is not the first time the Crash Bandicoot voice actors have teased a coming project. Leading up to the announcement of the Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy and Crash Bandicoot 4, Lang dropped hints about his upcoming work as well. This could be history repeating itself.

If the voiceover project is not a new Crash Bandicoot game, there is a chance that the two actors are working on some sort of crossover content instead. The developers of Crash Bandicoot are still hoping that Crash Bandicoot makes his way into Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, and if that happened the voice actors would likely need to tag along as well. No matter what winds up happening, fans will just have to wait for more concrete details down the line.

Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time is out now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
