Activision releases a new trailer for the remastered collection of Crash Bandicoot games, Crash Bandicoot N Sane Trilogy, that reveals the game's release date.

One of the biggest surprises of Sony's E3 2016 press conference was the announcement that PlayStation's original mascot, Crash Bandicoot, was making a comeback in Crash Bandicoot N Sane Trilogy. Since its reveal, fans have been wondering when they would have a chance to replay Crash's original three games with updated graphics and enhanced gameplay features, but the wait to learn the game's release date is over. Crash Bandicoot N Sane Trilogy will launch on June 30th, exclusively for PlayStation 4.

This announcement came in the form of a brief new trailer showing Crash getting smashed by a boulder from one of the earliest levels in the original Crash Bandicoot game. Besides showing off the N Sane Trilogy's remastered graphics and new art style, the trailer offers little else beyond the game's release date.

Now that fans know when to expect the game, however, information on it could come on a more frequent basis in the months leading up to release. We already know that the game will be receiving gameplay upgrades like modernized saving systems and the like, but perhaps it has even more surprises in store.

With release date rumors put to rest, fans can look forward to learning more about Crash Bandicoot N Sane Trilogy's enhancements and gameplay features. Perhaps the game will feature brand new levels built from the ground-up by Vicarious Visions, or maybe it will have new challenges for franchise veterans to conquer. Maybe it will even feature content that hints at a completely brand new Crash Bandicoot game in the future.

If Crash Bandicoot N Sane Trilogy performs well, then a completely new game in the series wouldn't be out of the question. Activision seems to be testing the waters for a potential new game in the series with the N Sane Trilogy and by adding Crash to Skylanders, so if consumers show enough interest in the character, maybe an announcement will come soon after the launch of the remastered collection this June.

Crash Bandicoot N Sane Trilogy's late June release date could be of some interest, by the way. Since the game's announcement was one of the highlights of Sony's E3 press conference in 2016, there's a good chance it will have some representation at this year's E3 event as well. And since E3 takes place in June, fans could be in store for a big Crash Bandicoot N Sane Trilogy announcement at the show to build some last-minute hype for the game's release.

Crash Bandicoot N Sane Trilogy will be available on June 30th, exclusively for PlayStation 4.
