Today, in order to promote the forthcoming launch of Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, Sony Interactive Entertainment has officially released the first piece of gameplay footage for the "Hang Eight" level from Crash Bandicoot 2 that is set to be included in the remastered package of the original platformers in the series. Considering the visuals provided in the trailer for the updated title, Crash definitely is looking better than ever.

As seen in the trailer from the official PlayStation Twitter account below, the Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy's graphical enhancements for Crash Bandicoot 2 are nothing short of gorgeous, with the Hang Eight level being a great choice to display the work of developer Vicarious Visions' remasters. In the footage, Crash Bandicoot fans get a look at the Hang Eight level's colorful environments filled with waterfalls and rapids, as well as enemies such as the Venus Fly Trap. Plus, there's even a neat little switching point in the level that changes to a 2D segment.

Of course, Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy won't just include the second entry in the series, as it will also include the very first Crash Bandicoot title, as well as Crash Bandicoot: Warped. For those unaware, each of the original games in the franchise were created by Naughty Dog, but Activision's subsidiary company Vicarious Visions is currently at the helm of the remasters due to the rights belonging to the publishing giant.

Interestingly enough, in order to have the games in Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy retain what made the initial titles so great, while also injecting it with fresh sensibilities, Vicarious Visions used the original games' level geometry, but ended up rebuilding the gameplay from the ground up. As it happens, the trilogy will include new features for the updated versions, such as a unified checkpoint and save system that supports manual and auto-saving, in addition to a streamlined menu system. Not to mention, there will even be time trials available for each game.

At this point, the only platform that has been announced for Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy when it reaches its release date is PlayStation 4, but it's quite possible that the remastered package of games could end up on other systems after launch. Such speculation has been circulating online due to a tweet from the PlayStation Ireland Twitter account a while back saying that Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy would "be coming to PlayStation 4 and PS4 Pro first," intimating the possibility of it not being a PS4 exclusive. Nevertheless, even if the titles should appear on other platforms after the compendium's launch, it's safe to presume that fans will just be happy to know that Crash is back.

Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy is set to launch on June 30, 2017 for PlayStation 4.
