Proving that there's no escape from the latest craze, Crash Bandicoot fidget spinners are now available to fans. The promotion comes ahead of the release of the Crash Bandicoot N' Sane Trilogy on PS4 this week.

A promotion from GameSpot Ireland is currently doing the rounds on social media in which the retailer is offering a free fidget spinner to players who trade games in to get the Crash Bandicoot N' Sane Trilogy which launches on PS4 tomorrow. The retailer has also confirmed that the promotion includes any game, which makes sense given that fidget spinners are relatively cheap - this could be a chance for players to offload older, unpopular games that they didn't enjoy.

It seems that the promotion is only being offered to those in Ireland, but for those who aren't in the region, Sony has also unveiled their line of Crash Bandicoot N' Sane Trilogy merchandise. Described as "PlayStation Gear exclusives you won’t be able to find anywhere else," the merch line includes Cortex Laboratories and Wumpa Juice t-shirts, snapbacks, keyrings, and various crate-shaped mugs that look cool but could be a hassle to drink out of. There are also (normal shaped) mugs that change depending on temperature as well as a crate of pin badges.

Only the European PlayStation Blog has posted about the Crash-themed merchandise so far, so it's unclear whether it will also be available in North America too. At approximately $9 for a keyring, the prices are a bit steep. However, for Crash Bandicoot fans who aren't on PS4 and are awaiting a confirmation that the Crash Bandicoot N' Sane Trilogy is coming to Xbox One, this could be a way to show their enthusiasm even if they can't play the game.

While t-shirts and mugs are fairly standard pieces of merchandise, some might argue that the heat changing mug and the fidget spinner are a bit over the top. But as the recent nostalgic Crash Bandicoot N' Sane Trilogy commercials showed, Sony, Activision and their retail partners are happy to embrace that silly side of the series in order to promote the game. Known for wearing jean shorts with no shirt, Crash Bandicoot is a decidedly laid-back character and some will agree that it's good to see the marketing for the games taking the same approach.

Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy is set to launch on June 30, 2017 for PlayStation 4.
