2021 has been a very big year for gaming anniversaries. From Donkey Kong to Sonic the Hedgehog, some of gaming's biggest names are being celebrated either by fans, or the companies that made them. The newest icon to get their time in the spotlight as of right now is Crash Bandicoot, with the recent announcement of the Crashiversary bundle that compiles some of his biggest hits from the past few years. It certainly looks like a great way to celebrate his 25 anniversary, even if it is here over a month before the official anniversary date.

While the Crashiversary bundle is an excellent collection for just about any console, there's one that it seems perfectly suited for. The Nintendo Switch has ridden a wave of success on its incredible portability and suite of exclusive titles, and the Crashiversary bundle will be available in full force on the console. While this celebration greatly caters to those that have stuck with the bright orange marsupial since his beginnings, it gives the uninitiated a great chance to get into the Crash Bandicoot games for the first time. And with the benefits of the Nintendo Switch, there might be no other console better suited for this Crashiversary.

A Crash-tastic Deal

Activision Crash 4 Team Racing

One of the biggest things working for the Crashiversary bundle on the Switch is its incredible price. Although it is a limited time price as of right now, the bundle is available for just $59.99. That's five whole games for the price of one, a deal that is very hard to find in just about any gaming marketplace. For Switch owners, it's very rare that Nintendo exclusives, or games of a similar caliber, will go on sale. So a collection of this size, with such acclaimed games, at a reasonable price, is an excellent opportunity.

The Best Of Crash, Wherever And Whenever

crash bandicoot 4: it's about time release date

The biggest draw of the Crashiversary bundle is the fact that it compiles Crash Bandicoot's best adventures in one place, without the fluff of some of his less notable releases. N. Sane TrilogyCrash Team Racing: Nitro-Fueled, and Crash 4 are all stellar releases on their own, and putting them in one place just makes getting into Crash Bandicoot that much easier. And with the portability of the Switch, gamers looking to get into the franchise aren't restricted to when or where they want to play the games. So long as they have time to take out their Switch, they can get as much Crash content as they need.

A Proper Platformer Collection

The Crashiversary bundle isn't the first anniversary game collection to come out in the past year, but it just might be the best. Many Nintendo fans still feel burned by Super Mario 3D All-Stars, with its lack of new content, and self-imposed timeframe of availability. After that disappointment, the Crashiversary bundle could be just the thing Nintendo fans need. The classic games within the bundle are great improvements from their original release, and on top of that, more games are offered than 3D All-Stars. It would almost seem that Nintendo has been outdone when it comes to celebrating a platforming icon.

Crash Bandicoot has been a gaming staple ever since his first installment, so it's refreshing to see him get a proper celebration in the form of the Crashiversary bundle. He certainly isn't the only brightly colored animal to get some kind of celebration, as Sonic has Sonic Colors: Ultimate coming this September. It can be very exciting to see these characters get the recognition they deserve from the companies that created them, because without names like Crash Bandicoot, the industry just wouldn't be the same.

Crash Bandicoot - Crashiversary Bundle is available now on PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
