IGN uploaded a three minute video feature providing a gameplay overview of Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time. While some details of Crash 4's gameplay were revealed, this is the first real look fans have to see how developer Toys for Bob is bringing the original PlayStation mascot back.

There are a lot of takeaways from the overview with returning gameplay elements and new tricks. The video demonstrates the advancement of level design and how current generation hardware is able to bring a new depth. The trailer looks at two levels out of the rumored 100 in the game, but it is the Pirate themed level with provides the prominent details.

While the initial reveal trailer for Crash Bandicoot 4 showed off a montage of levels, the pirate level is a new look at the game. This is still not a full level playthrough but it is a demonstration of what the next entry of the series has to offer.

Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time is undoubtedly a Crash game. From the general gameplay of spinning and jumping, crates return alongside the counter at the end of the stage. As for the level itself, it definitely provides a wider space of movement than previous Crash games. The levels themselves are much more interconnected than before. During a rope grinding section of the level, IGN Editor Jonathon Dornbush notes the scope of the level visible below.

Beyond just the pirate level are a few more glimpses of gameplay. The other level prominently shown is the gravity based platforming level in which Coco swaps between gravitational pulls. Crash 4 features multiple playable characters as players take control of not only Coco, but also lovable antagonist Dr. Neo Cortex.

Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time has been subject to numerous leaks over the last few weeks. Just days before the planned reveal saw numerous leaks appear online including the October 2 release date and digital pre-order bonus costumes. One piece of information that has sullied the reveal for some is the indication that Crash Bandicoot 4 will feature microtransactions. Even despite this bump, fans are still in glee with the upcoming return of a fifth generation icon.

Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time will be released on October 2 for PS4 and Xbox One.
