In the short time that Crash Bandicoot 4 has been announced, a lot of details regarding the upcoming entry in the beloved gaming franchise have been confirmed. This has certainly given fans of Crash Bandicoot a lot to be excited about, however, a pre-order page has now been created for Crash Bandicoot 4 and it includes a rather curious detail.
Ever since the reveal trailer for Crash Bandicoot 4 was shown off earlier this week, a lot of ancillary information regarding the game has been revealed to the gaming community. This is definitely a rare occurrence when it comes to game announcements, considering most games are given a reveal trailer and additional information is later dished out over the course of several months, or years, in some cases.
Perhaps it has something to do with the fact that Crash Bandicoot 4 is releasing later this year, and therefore, the development of the game is further along than most other games. In any case, several details surrounding the game have begun to surface, including the addition of in-game purchases.
The pre-order page that has been created in the Microsoft store and mentions that those who purchase the game digitally will be given the Totally Tubular skins. This seems to indicate that most of the additional in-game content will be character skins, which makes sense given the large variety of playable characters featured in the game.
It remains to be seen whether player skins will be the only type of purchasable in-game content featured in Crash Bandicoot 4. The N Sane Trilogy offered additional downloadable levels that were available shortly after the release of the game, though, given the large volume of levels included in Crash Bandicoot 4, downloadable levels seem somewhat unlikely, at least for right now.
In any case, fans of Crash Bandicoot have a lot to look forward to in terms of this new game. The large aforementioned catalog of levels, multiple playable characters, local multiplayer, and game mechanics completely new to Crash Bandicoot 4 gives this game a serious edge — one that will surely set the game apart from every other in the series.
Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time is set to launch on October 9th, 2020.
