Terry Crews hasn't been shy about his love of gaming, publicly campaigning to be cast as Doomfist in Overwatch, playing a character in Saints Row 4, and often talking about games on social media. This love for gaming has seen Crews cast in Crackdown 3, where he will be playing Commander Jaxon, who is now confirmed to be a playable character.

Crackdown 3 design director Garett Wilson confirmed that Commander Jaxon will be a playable character in the game. Furthermore, Jaxon will apparently play a key role in Crackdown 3's story as well, though it's unclear if he will be playable in the campaign or strictly in the multiplayer mode.

"[Commander Jaxon is] a playable character. I think I'm OK to tell you that. I probably shouldn't say any more. He definitely is a playable character, and he's a character in the narrative, so he's in the opening cut-scene and things like that."

Microsoft: We Don't Need Crackdown 3 This Year - Crackdown 3 agent overlooking city

Wilson's comments offer some much needed clarification in regards to Terry Crews' involvement in the game and his character Commander Jaxon. Fans were first introduced to Commander Jaxon during Crackdown 3's portion of Microsoft's E3 2017 press conference, though at the time some thought Crews was just promoting the game, or that his character would simply be an NPC.

But as previously stated, it's still unclear if Commander Jaxon will be playable in Crackdown 3's story campaign or only in the multiplayer mode. One would imagine that players will stick to using their created agent in the story, with Jaxon still involved in the game's narrative in some capacity, and serving as a playable character in the online multiplayer.

Of course, that's just speculation at this time, but until Microsoft offers answers, speculating about the extent of Commander Jaxon's role in Crackdown 3 is all fans can do. With the game set to launch in just a few months time, hopefully we see more of Crackdown 3 and Terry Crews' Commander Jaxon character sooner rather than later.

Crackdown 3 will launch on November 7, 2017 for PC and Xbox One.
