In real estate, if someone sees a house listed as cozy, then it’s probably very, very small. But cozy houses can and should be places that give comfort and security and promote relaxation through and through, whether they are big or small.

In video games, fans have been in love with fictional houses since they could only see pixelated versions of them. Some of those houses are big and impressive and others are small and hidden, but they do manage to create a feeling of ease and a longing for a welcoming atmosphere. Whether haunted, abandoned, or dipped in luxury, gamers want to visit them and be snug as a bug in a rug.

7 Croft Manor

Croft Manor Tomb Raider

In Tomb Raider, the fans have always loved Croft Manor, in whichever version it comes. And who can forget how emotional things got when the manor was burning in Tomb Raider: Underworld?

Lara has a special bond with her house, and the gamers have their own as well. It is difficult to imagine a player, especially one that has loved Lara since the beginning, not wanting to live in the superb house with its secret rooms and the huge library.

6 50 Berkeley Square

Charles Dickens House Assassins Creed Syndicate

In Assassin’s Creed Syndicate, which for a lot of people is considered to be the best one of the Assassin’s Creed franchise, there is a quest called "50 Berkeley Square," which allows the player to visit a house that Charles Dickens wants them to investigate.

In the quest, players have to explore the house and find clues about what is happening (and why on earth a piano plays on its own). While the house could use a little bit of renovation, what with all the ghosts and everything, the player can clearly see how lovely it would be with some more furniture and fewer madmen in secret rooms.

5 Lakeview Manor

Lakeview Manor Skyrim

In Skyrim, if the player has the Hearthfire add-on, they can build their dream house in the game. If the gamer purchases the land from the Jarl of Falkreath, then the Lakeview Manor is a dream that can be realized.

The house has also some unique characters to it, and a location that is simply breathtaking, but the most stunning part of it is how much it wants to make the player break the barrier of real life and video games and just go there for a visit for a short (or long) stay.

4 Any Of The Houses In Strawberry

Strawberry Houses Red Dead Redemption 2

In Red Dead Redemption 2, at some point, the player visits the town of Strawberry. It is as sweet as its namesake and incredibly picturesque – at least for those who associate coziness with rustic.

It is the capital of the Big Valley region and even though it was made to be just another small town for lumberjacks etc., it grew and got more of a reputation as a mining town. Of course, the mayor wants it to be a resort town, but that’s another story.

All the houses in Strawberry look like the most idyllic locations to enjoy an apple pie and some tea next to the fireplace.

3 Cathouse

Cathouse We Happy Few

We Happy Few has lots of amazing houses, and players can explore so many of them. Let’s not forget that it is a very long game that takes 21 hours to finish.

In the "Cathouse" quest, players have to find a house that belongs to some very cute old ladies (fans definitely should not let their harmless appearance fool them!) that want the protagonist to fix some things around the house...before stealing the Onyx Cat Statues.

So, there is a lot of time to explore this truly cozy house and imagine oneself living there instead of the three quirky old ladies. Tea, anyone?

2 Finch House

In What Remains Of Edith Finch the player has to deal with all the grief and loss that Edith Finch is dealing with while visiting her family house. It might not sound particularly relaxing, but this changes once fans get to explore the house.

It is definitely not all gloom and dark, since the innovative and devastatingly cozy Finch house has some secrets that bring joy and comfort – both to the player and the character of Edith.

1 Corvo Bianco

Corvo Bianco Witcher 3

In The Witcher 3, Geralt receives a pretty big payment for a contract from Duchess Anna Henrietta, and it is the Corvo Bianco Vineyard, a.k.a. the dream house of many gamers. It’s part of the Blood and Wine expansion, which is definitely worth getting, even if it is just for this house.

Geralt can do restorations in the house, with the quest "No Place Like Home," and get a lot of amazing rewards because of it. As a bonus, players can hang wall paintings that they can buy from the Dupont & Sons merchant.
