Rising speculation is leading many to believe that a new Cowboy Bebop game is in the works, developed by well-known animation and games studio Sunrise Inc. If the rumors prove to be true, we'd be treated to another piece of Cowboy Bebop content, following the live-action Netflix series, starring John Cho, known for his roles in Star Trek, Harold and Kumar ,and American Pie.Recently, Japanese studio Sunrise Inc. who is mostly known for its production of Mobile Suit Gundam movies, has applied to create a new IP under the Cowboy Bebop name. This isn't Sunrise Inc.'s first foray into the acclaimed sci-fi anime, as previoulsy the studio produced Cowboy Bebop: The Movie (2001), nor will this be Sunrise Inc.'s first video game. No doubt Sunrise Inc. has sought to strike while the iron is relatively hot, and produce a Cowboy Bebop videogame to compliment both the anime and live-action series. Two Cowboy Bebop videogames have been produced previously, one for the original PlayStation, simply named Cowboy Bebop. The second game was created for the PlayStation 2, entitled Cowboy Bebop: Tsuioku no Serenade. With the most recent game being released in 2005 and only playable for Japanese gamers, another Cowboy Bebop game now would scratch that space-faring, bounty hunting itch that Cowboy Bebop provides.Cowboy Bebop's main castThough there is gathering speculation that a Cowboy Bebop game may be in the works, speculation is all that we're going to have for quite some time it seems. With only an application filed for the use of the IP so far, it seems Sunrise Inc. only have the concept of the game it wants to create, if that. A Cowboy Bebop game has great potential, but it remains to be seen what shape it would take.Whatever form the game does take, no doubt the Cowboy Bebop game will have strong visuals thanks to the animation expertise of Sunrise Inc. Sunrise Inc.'s experience with Cowboy Bebop, having created the 2001 film adaptation of the series, no doubt will lend a hand in creating a videogame that stays true to the roots of the anime.
