Counter Strike: Global Offensive is one of the most popular shooters of all time. The tactical FPS still has a massive audience — close to a million players at any given time — despite releasing in 2012.

The title still has a large player base thanks to the great gameplay and constant patches — bringing with them new content, skins, and metas. These skins give the game that extra splash of color by sprucing up players’ weapons, making the cosmetics very desirable.

Many players are using the skins’ demand and their rare drop rate to make a profit, and many of the cosmetics end up costing a fortune. Here are some of the most expensive skins found on the Steam community marketplace.

10 StatTrak Bayonet | Crimson Web — $603

Bayonet With Crimson Web Skin

The Bayonet’s Crimson Web skin was released in 2013, and it’s since been one of the most valuable knife skins. It gives this knife’s blade a bright red coat of paint and tops it off with an elegant black web pattern.

According to the Steam marketplace, a Steam user purchased the weapon for $603.75 on October 9th. Some sources claim that the weapon sold for more than $8000 on third party websites, which is absolutely mind-boggling. Yet third party sales aren’t as reliable as the ones found on Steam itself, so they should be taken with a grain of salt.

9 StatTrak AK-47 | Fire Serpent — $910

AK47 With Fire Serpent Skin

Counter Strike’s most famous assault rifle received this skin in 2013, alongside the release of Operation Bravo. The weapon’s metallic body changes when the skin is equipped. It features a green Aztec serpent, along with bright blue clouds behind it.

Someone purchased the skin for $910.33 on the 3rd of January. That’s an insane amount that only skin collectors and die-hard fans would be willing to pay. What’s incredible is that the weapon may have been sold for upwards of $7000 on third party websites, where sellers can cash in the money.

8 StatTrak P90 | Emerald Dragon — $1017

P90 With Emerald Dragon Skin

This famous SMG received the Emerald Dragon in 2013 with the release of Operation Bravo.

The P90 features a green and yellow Chinese dragon. Its elongated body slithers all over the skin, doubling back on itself and forming loops. The dragon does this alongside the grey sky in the skin’s background.

Someone bought this gorgeous skin for $1017.92 on the 10th of July. While this is the weapon’s all-time highest selling point, it’s still been sold for upwards of $900 on several occasions.

7 StatTrak Karambit | Case Hardened — $1226

Karambit With Case Hardened Skin

The Karambit knife has a colorful coat of paint thanks to the Case Hardened skin. The stunning cosmetic gives the blade a bright yellow, blue, and purple coat of paint — making the skin’s owner stick out in a match. This brightly colored skin was released in 2013 alongside the Arms Deal update.

On September 30th, this cosmetic was sold for a whopping $1226.74. But this price is an outlier on Steam, as the weapon skin typically sells for $350. Yet the high price isn’t that uncommon when looking at third party sellers.

6 StatTrak AK-47 | Case Hardened — $1300

AK47 With Case Hardened Skin

Counter Strike’s most famous assault rifle also received the Case Hardened skin in 2013. This version of the skin is similar to the one on the Karambit and features a bright yellow, blue, and purple coat of paint. On the AK-47, these colors show up on the metallic frame of the gun, leaving the wooden parts untouched.

The weapon was sold for exactly $1300 on November 3rd. This isn’t the only time the weapon sold for over $1000, but the high price is the exception rather than the rule. In most cases, the weapon averages around $300 per purchase, which is still a lot.

5 StatTrak Karambit | Crimson Web — $1517

Karambit With Crimson Web Skin

The Karambit has many skins on this list, clearly showing how valuable the knife is. It features the iconic Crimson Web skin, which released alongside the Case Hardened skin in the Arms Deal update.

This skin gives the blade a bright red paint job, as well as an interlocking web pattern that covers the entire weapon.

This popular cosmetic fetches high prices. On the Steam market, it sold for $1517.38 on December 6th. Yet the weapon sells for much more on third party websites, where some users have paid over $13000 for the skin.

4 StatTrak Karambit | Marble Fade — $1678

Karambit With Marble Fade Skin

Marble Fade is one of the most colorful skins in the game, and it looks stunning when it comes on the Karambit knife. This unique skin dropped in 2015 along with the Full Spectrum update. It coats the blade in an assortment of colors — red, yellow, and blue — that form a smoky pattern.

A user purchased the skin for $1678.45 on the 7th of November. It may not fetch as high a price on third party websites, but it’s consistently worth over a thousand dollars.

3 AWP | Medusa — $1698

AWP With Medusa Skin

The Medusa skin is one of the most detailed and stunning skins out there. It dropped in 2015 alongside Operation Bloodhound.

As the name implies, this weapon skin features the iconic Greek gorgon. Players with this skin will find Medusa’s green face on one side of the AWP’s stock — with the back of her head present on the other side. The purple snakes that make up her hair are sent out in tendrils along the weapon’s body.

One Steam user purchased the weapon for a ridiculous $1698.73 on the 4th of August.

2 StatTrak M9 Bayonet | Crimson Web — $1774

M9 Bayonet With Crimson Web Skin

The M9 Bayonet — not to be confused with the regular bayonet from earlier in this list — features the famous Crimson Web skin. The cosmetic gives the serrated knife a bright red coat of paint and black web markings.

Counter Strike knife skins are worth a lot of money. That’s why a Steam user bought this skin for $1774.47 back in May. Yet this price pales in comparison with what’s found on third party websites, with some claiming that the weapon goes for over $15000.

1 Butterfly Knife | Fade — $1919

Butterfly Knife With Fade Skin

This expensive skin came out in 2014 alongside Operation Breakout. The cosmetic gives this already rare knife a bright paint job, coating it in vivid purples, reds, and yellows. As the name implies, these colors are faded into each other to give a spectrum of more subtle shades and hues.

This is Steam’s most expensive Counter Strike weapon skin, selling for an unbelievable $1919.38 on the 2nd of January. The charts also show that the weapon has steadily been increasing in price over the past two years — taking the skin from $300 up to $1900.
