Count Down to the New Year with Xbox Live Arcade Deals

Xbox Live Arcade New Years Deals

'Tis the season of giving, but every now and then gamers need to pick up a treat for themselves as, well. Microsoft has been happy to help out this year, offering a number of holiday promotions for content on Xbox Live Arcade. Though we are still in the final days of the December Bonus Deals (they run through the 20th), Major Nelson has already sent out word on the next holiday offer from Microsoft.

To help gamers everywhere count down the days to the new year, they'll be offering a new deal every day from December 21st through to the 31st. Additionally, the big M is slashing prices on nine arcade games and one piece of DLC for the duration of the promotion. Check out the list of titles, and remember that all prices listed are MS Points.

A solid selection of titles that should have something to entice practically any gamer. Super Meat Boy tops the list for a reason, and anyone who hasn't purchased it yet should take advantage of the sale price. It may be old, but Castle Crashers is a ton of fun, and at half-off the price is right. And just five bucks for the classic Sega arcade goodness of Afterburner Climax is just too good to pass up.

The good Major had a bit more news to share, including the selection of upcoming Games on Demand titles, which include Spike Video Game Awards Game of the Year winner Red Dead Redemption.

To finish it all off, Nelson detailed the last Xbox Live Arcade games of 2010, and the first of 2011.

  • A World of Keflings 12/22 800 MS Points
  • Raskulls 12/29 800 MS Points
  • ilomilo 1/5 800 MS Points

All three games made appearances at PAX 2010 and looked intriguing, with ilomilo in particular sporting a graphical style unlike anything else on the system. Stay tuned to Game Rant for reviews on each game as they hit.

There you have it, Ranters. Will you be taking advantage of Microsoft's last Xbox Live sale of 2010? Which games are you interested in picking up? Which games would you reccomend to other players?
