It's safe to say that Steam is the PC's most popular online game platform. There are thousands of games that can be purchased and downloaded on Steam, and there are fans out there with massive libraries they've collected. However, it's unlikely that anyone out there has purchased every single game, but if someone wanted to, it would cost over half a million dollars.

Someone has calculated the cost of the entire Steam library, and it comes out to a whopping $556,286.14. However, because Steam often runs sales, and many games are available at a discount right now, the current price for every single game on Steam is $438,155.80. That's a discount of over $100,000, so not too shabby.

The page that makes these calculations shows the history of the cost of the Steam games, and it was inspired by a much older site that did the same thing, though that older site hasn't been updated since 2014. It's certainly pretty fun to find out just how much every game on Steam would cost, but making the investment likely isn't possible for most players. There are also plenty of free games on Steam that are a part of the calculation, but of course, it doesn't move the needle in terms of the cost for the player.

According to the chart, it was possible to purchase every game on Steam for $229,259.24 back in April of 2017, which means that the catalog has spiked by over $300,000. That, of course, is thanks to an ongoing entry of new titles, as the library of Steam continues to grow, as does its user base. Recently Steam reached 20 million concurrent users, breaking its own record.

Steam continues to grow and find success. Recently it was revealed that most first-party PC Xbox titles will eventually come to Steam, adding a whole new list of games to its growing catalog. Phil Spencer made this comment, as he and his team continue to work towards making games playable on as many platforms as possible.

Whether it is small loveable indies or giant thrid party games, like Apex Legends making its way to Steam, the PC platform has just about every game anyone would like to play. And for the low-low price of around half a million, players can purchase every single game if they'd like to. It's highly unlikely that any user would ever purchase every single game from the Steam catalog, but the sheer amount of options are rather remarkable.
